The phone has a good design but the lack of expandable memory is a put down Nowadays expandable memory is a basic feature in all new phones almost like a standard must-have feature.

I know people probably think 37 MB is enough but i think that it was the same scenario before the k700 came out and once it came out, there were numerous posts complaining and whining about the lack of expandable memory ! I think the same is gonna happen with this phone...... just my thought

Its not top of the range! You want top of the range?

well no doubt we'll get the usual K600i vs Z800i thread but Z800i an initial comparison shows that the functions of both are identical except for the expanded memory abilty of the Z800i. They both have the same size screen, same number of colours, support the same frequencies etc etc

actually the K600i has a radio which the Z800i doesnt have

so in summary I'm not sure how one comes to the conclusion that Z800i is "top of the range" but maybe I am missing something?

Well, i think adding MSDUO support makes it top of the range

It also probably has a better cam, better flash, it has motion eye, external screen with Caller ID etc.

I don't understand why a lot of folks are looking for external memory support for every phone. I know it's nice to have in a phone, but is it really mandatory? The K600 is supposed to be a mid-range phone so I don't see why it would need this feature and still expected to be affordable.

Though there are features on this phone that make this better than the K700i, I think that SE is trying to raise the bar on what should be expected on a mid-range phone.

If external memory is what you're looking for, I'm sure that SE has phones that will come out that will satisfy your need (ie Z800 and Clara).

Sorry, didn't mean to rant, but I think that SE is trying to accomodate all different markets of phone users. Right now, they're showing the bottom of the barrel. They'll show their best phones for later...

the camera specs are the same but there is no mention of a flash in the K600i. the Z800i only has an external screen because of its folding form factor. I just don't think the Z800i can be assumed to be top of the range so quickly and easily given the minimal differences

@thedoc, nice find
