OT

The SE Service Centre in Singapore is always packed with people waiting to be serviced. Usually, there will be a handful of people waiting even before it is open for the day. Waiting is terrible. wait to send the phone in, wait for it to be serviced, and wait to collect. Only thing need not wait is payment.

would be really nice if our service center here could be as empty as that in Malaysia. As justjim said, the "broke" there could be so free to be fiddling with his P990i.

Isn't this interesting. Even though the firmware is available, but the Service Centres are not allowed to upload it for customers. I was thinking of a good reason for SE to do so... maybe the most reasonable one could be that they wanted to make sure that the firmware is good before releasing... but if they are really so considerate, the phone shouldn't even be released for sale.

Funny... When we don't want to be "beta testers", SE forced us by releasing unstable firmware. But when we are eager to be their "beta testers", they turn us down.?!

The latest existing firmware isnīt "instable", so they can delay the next one a bit...

I agree with Ares, we should wait a little more for a stabile release. It's important to improve something, like keeping after reboot RAM free etc.
I have the phone for 1wk and am happy ‘till now, it was R5, and in the first minute I’ve updated him to R7, and runs good, but RAM is leaking after standby J, I’ll hope R9 solves this issue.

Best regards,

Iīm sure they now want to make things right...releasing a firmware with just a optimized version of opera wouldnīt be enough

@ares
Didnīt we say the same thing after the release date of the P990 was delayed and then delayed again....?
SE is doing it to provide a bug-free product...... we all know what happened....

Why are you supprised? ifthey made you a beta tester they would have to provide you with free devices, this way you pay for them and still perform the same service a much better option from point of view. BTW when i first started moaning about the way was treating its customers some members seemed to think I was wrong to complain and almost went as afr as suggesting that all my problems were only due to the fact I had a "Branded" phone funny to see how they now know what I knew months ago did not get this phone right from day 1 and we are now providing them with the test data they need free of charge. The alarm function on mine is total crap weekly alarms will just keep defaulting to Sunday what a joke this so called flag ship business phone is
