Shame about the lack of mem card slot.

I dunno about saying it's nothing they've done before, the Pearl and Curve were a bit like that really, the Pearl especially.
This just seems like a progressive upgrade rather than an overhaul of the brand or anything. It's still got the same layout, still has GPS and WiFi, still does e-mails very well.
Yes they've added 1GB memory, but if Nokia can do 8GB on their other phones this is hardly record breaking.
Don't get me wrong, it's really nice, and a good upgrade from my Curve in 9 months or so, but it's not 'ground breaking' really, hence why I can't see why their seperating it from the rest of the branding.

it does have a mem card slot bav....
it's os 4.6 and combines everything that has been in seperate devices before, also it's the first HSDPA handset by RIM...
I don't really care what it's called, I'll be getting one pretty pronto after release!

Hi all,
I really can't understand how anyone can say this isn't anything new as unless i am very much mistaken.
It has a new and improved OS 4.6
A new processor @624mghz
1GB on board memory and support for SDHC up to 16GB
Multi band UMTS & HSDPA support
A brand new screen @480x320
Improved GPS and Maps
Improved Multimedia functionality
All of which IMO moves it to the next level compared to previous offerings and it is a great looking device to IMO. Previously i had found BB's lacking in some area's this new Bold seems to address all those issues.
Marc

What really is a shame is the size, I mean for what it does and its size you would expect more like someone pointed out earlier if Nokia can jam 16Gb, 1Gb is no breakthrough.
I do hope they start to allow the saving of doc files natively to the memory card as this is quite annoying and I hate having to spend more money on purchasing 3rd party apps.
All in its good to see, as it means the phone will work in Japan so a bit of a blessing in disguise. Though I am still waiting to see the N96 I will be ordering one as soon as its out.

Can any existing BB owners tell me if you can have SMS delivery reports?
And what will web surfing be like on this?
Finally will 9000 allow playback of 3GP videos ecoded at H264 or even H264 in mp4? Im seriously considering getting one of these things.
