Damn... managed to scratch the screen already... :( I'm not sure what could have done it, nothing else was in my pocket, but the screen doesn't seem to be as enduring as we first thought.

How are you finding it for hand writing? I've read some comments saying its not responsive/precise? Have you tried TomTom 6 on it?

Can you do things such as make calls, use music player, acess email & take pictures without resorting to using the stylus?

Thanks

also, does it sound as good as an iPod & does it include the bluetooth reciever for using your own headphones.

Well I don't use handwriting recognition, but it's true that the touch screen is less responsive as the one on the p990. At first it's weird but you can get used to it.
Didn't try tomtom 6 as I don't have a gps device.

Non stylus use:
Making a call without touching the screen can be tricky but the only thing I'd actually pull the stylus out for would be to scroll through the contact list. You do have the same option of assigning 15 shortcuts to the main screen as with the p1 and for the frequent numbers that should be enough :)
The music player is a dream. I never owned a walkman phone before so this might be trivial to some, but it just does what you want it to do. No need to unlock the phone to adjust volume or skip a track... No need to get it out of your pocket even, the two buttons on the side work perfectly.
There are also three touch sensitive buttons under the screen which light up for back/play/next whenever you use a multimedia application.
The camera also works perfectly without touching the screen, they have the main functions bound to the keypad (one feature i missed very much from the 990), they even have a picture of which button does what bound to the 0 button.
Email and messaging is pretty much the same as with the 990.
I've never owned an ipod nor am I too good at determining the difference between audio quality of certain phones, but this one does the trick just fine for me when it comes to playing music. The included headphones were the standard walkman canalphones which are great. I didn't get the bluetooth adapter because my unit came from the uiq fasttrack, but to my knowledge it should be included in the retail box. And yes, you can connect your own headphones to both.
All in all I pretty much fell in love with this phone after the 990, the only thing I really miss is the qwerty keyboard. The lack of the back button and the lock slider didn't annoy me too much after a couple of days.

Thanks for that.

I had a quick tryout of the virtual phone on the SE website and see you can star rate tracks. Can you select tracks to play based on start rating as it didn't show in Artist/Album/Track/Mood/Compilation list etc.

You have a top rated playlist in the auto playlists menu. You can also assign moods to the tracks and play a certain mood. You can of course edit the moods, but I didn't find a way to add one yet.

Sorry for all the questions but need to be sure before I buy.

If you rate a track that was say a 2 star to a 5 star would it immediately show in the highest rated tracks autoplaylist (like an iPod Nano does).
