what happened was that a guy from SE said that he had no info on more announcements this year...but that does not mean that won´t happen
you see, right now SE is super secret about all this stuff, unlike some years ago, and they would never put someone recognizing a rumor so far from the actual event

Ares: I totally agree. Not having information about an announcement is a lot different from not having an announcement.
Plus, it's not like SE would actually come out and say when the thing is.
Regardless, we have a 95% accurate PhotoShop of the P5i, and so I'm content until whenever the announcement is.

For what its worth I have been told there is no such thing as a P5, P3 or any other P series phone.
The Phone that PK is saying he has might be a "W" series phone though.
There will be no update of the P1 for at least the next 12 months except software, which a new revision of Firmware will be realeased anytime as early as Monday of next week. So I have been informed.

The previous P1 firmware having been realeased amonth or so ago and not being available yet for all the regions, I doubt that SE is ready to release a new one. They've usually been releasing firmwares at a slower pace (once per quarter).
That being said, I'd be more than happy to see them do that more regularly like it seems to be the case for Nokia. It would only mean that they're trying to get their acts together (hopefully).
Let's wait for Monday, I'd rather have a new firmware for my P1 than an announcement for a phone which won't make it to my pocket for another 6 to 12 months.

very much doubt all of that...the phone PK has been testing does not have Walkman branding, software...the 2 prototypes my source saw (one was the same PK had), also did not have such...there is definitively a new P series coming...
