I see. So it's just different in taste then.

I can't feel such right bass impact on MDR-1000x.

Yeah just a different of opinion or potentially the music we listen to as I tend to listen to a lot of grunge/punk/rock/metal where bass isn't that heavy to be honest and I also customise my equaliser to suit my taste and again I think the MDR-1000X does a better job at fine tuning than the MDR-1A's

I see. I also love rock/metal especially the disturbed.

But I don't adjust the EQ.

I don't believe Sony would get rid of the 3.5mm socket. They are still shipping headphones with 5 contact jack's, which will only be compatible with Sony devices for digital noise cancelling (for which they claim to be king). As stated by others is an unfathomable decision if true.

Personally I drive different cars depending which country I'm in. Not all my cars have a decent Bluetooth hookup for playing music, most cars of a certain youth have at least Bluetooth for calls, but even now some high-end brand new cars don't have Bluetooth for music. 3.5mm more or less guarantees an alternative means.

I compare it to carrying cash, card or android pay. If I can I use android pay, else card but cash is still necessary to carry for when all else fails.

Finally, Sony aren't the only OEM still have 3.5mm in their flagships, if it was so hard to engineer into place, costs money to produce and is 'old' tech, why would others try to hold onto it?

The future is probably USB-C equipped headphones but they aren't the mainstream yet and so ditching the 3.5mm is like following lemmings off a cliff before the builder lemming has finished the bridge.

Try changing things with the equaliser and let me know what you think between both sets of headphones.

Most of users buy low end/midrange.
That is why Moto G and Galaxy J sell very well.
Mainly in South America.

I am sure my parents would the XA2, but hybrid slot sucks.
It was flagship stuff, now it comes to a midrange.
So L2 will be better choice.

Many ppl dont understand more than basic about tech, but like to buy good stuff.
And the lack of jack will make costumers walk away.
What if it comes to midranges too?
Since Htc 10 they dropped front speakers, then the jack too in late 2016.

Where is HTC now?

Htc 11/11+ are the best of them. Very good LCD, strong camera, among fastest phones and high quality audio.
Still not enough.
You see many comments on tech sites from ppl that say they would not buy it because of no jack.

I agree with moe87
Sony will be in big trouble if they ditch the jack.
