How can you find out what Firmware you have on the k750i?

Hey guys.
I have a k750i on Orange in the UK. I only got it a week or two ago, but I noticed that the firmware is reporting as the original R1A044 (EU_3) firmware.
I've been battling with the updater service for about an hour and a half now and I'm getting nowhere, fast!
Eventually I persuaded the software to install (why on why is it java?!) and it runs and detects my phone, but claims that the device is up-to-date. It offers the option to update anyway, which I say Yes to, it seems to then download the R1L firmware, then asks me to switch my phone off, wait, hold C and connect it again.
I do this and Windows prompts me to install a flash driver, which I cancel. the SE software says the update should start in 15 seconds, but it never does.
Anyone seen this before and have any ideas?

Well, to state the obvious, you need to install the Flash Driver
Available on the SE Support site.

Why would it need the Flash (ie onboard memory) driver to update the firmware? It's already forced me to install tons of crap I don't want, like the PC Suite
I definitely have the Update Driver installed though, but I'm about to remove all the SE devices from Device Manager and see what happens.
Edit: I just realised that it may be installing a driver from the Windows Update service because when I tell it to use the .inf from the SE download it says the driver is not valid

You have to install all the software which comes with your phone onto you computer. This works with the update service.
You also have to have to update usb drivers ready to be able to do the update.
There is plenty of mentions in this thread regarding the update and how it needs to be done.
I have updated 2 k750i both on Orange with no problems at all.
The whole process took no longer than 10 mins when done.
The reason for the update drivers is that the phone uses a different mode in usb and these dont come with the disk. The software on the phone intialises the phone to do the update and stops to phone turning back on when you press the c button. This is the reason for this.
Hope this helps

Yeah, I think it does help. I've given up on the Win2k box I was using, I forced the USB Flash driver onto it and it now crashes whenever I connect the phone. I'm trying again on a WinXP box with all the SE software installed. Thanks.
Edit: Well it still said my phone was up-to-date, but when I told it to go ahead anyway it downloaded the firmware and applied it successfully, so I now have R1L
Thanks guys
