This one is specially dedicated to all the petrolheads.

Here's the story: Yesterday morning I get a called out to a valet service in Montague Gardens(industrial area near Milnerton). The MD of the company wanted to inform us that on Tuesday some daft buggers made off with a brand new AMG ML63 .
The vehicle valued at R1.8m, with an 18 month waiting list was still awaiting delivery to its owner. Apparently the criminals stole three sets of keys earlier that morning and later that afternoon returned to steal the car from the yard where it had been parked.
With only a liter of petrol in the tank the thieves could not go too far and indeed they didn't.
The story was broadcast on CapeTalk and other media, this morning some conference delegate at the Convention Centre noticed the car in the underground car park.

@Wangs Wish I had a spare T610 lying around.Loved that phone to bits. One of my favourite SE phones.
@Falcon Like they say,'absence makes the heart grow fonder.' Glad you loving your N95.Have to admit when I see the ad on the telly my heart does desire it a little bit.(Flog me Wanga like the albino in the Davinci Code.)
@Kryptik Shame dude. Are you having a long week.Dont worry cause tomorrow,as Gareth Cliff and the morning team say 'ITS THE WEEKENNNNND BABYYYY!' Bring it on.
@gucci Enjoy your N80 bud.S60 ROCKS.No apologies needed.
Im loving browsing Operamini in landscape mode. Also I quite like the data counter.Tells you exactly how much bytes is going in/out.Also you can access the files on your phone like photo's ect and hopefully upload them without having to use a pc.Must still play around with that. Also you can customise colours of background, text ect.The mod gets a nod from me.Two thumbs up.

Brix, to quote a term i used a while ago, those thieves were vaakvisse Could've darem swung by a filling station and topped up the tank

Hobbs, i love the fact that Mini can be customized, when i installed 1.23 on my 6680 i tinkered about until i got the colours exactly how i liked it, then poked about until i found the correct files to transfer to my 6630 so that it's set up the same way

@ da brixsta:
(Solid) Snakes alive! That's good news! Now if they can also make Blazing Angels for a cellphone platorm, I'll be such a happy Wanqa.

@ Hobbster,
Ya the T610 is indeed a classic.
I took these earlier today with the N73. It's my current cellphone 'collection'. I use the P900 and N73 the most by far. One has an O2 sim in it, the other Orange. The T610 has a Mobile World (Carphone Warehouse) sim in it.
The Nokia 7600, one of Nokia's very first 3G handsets, is used off-peak for Vodafone's 'Stop The Clock' promotion. (talk for 1 hour, only pay for the first 3 minutes). I just really dig the handset's quirky, extremely original form, although it's a bitch to SMS with.

The T630, in ice-white, remains the best-looking phone to date IMHO. Stunning. Like the T39m in the pics that follow it, it is brand spanking new. I bought them with the intention of using up all the credit ranging, from £1-£5, on loads of free simcard promotions that the networks have here. I just don't obviously get round to doing this as I intended though.

I might still get rid of them, before I buy any newer handset/s, as I really don't want to become sucked into an obsession of collecting classic phones, even if each does appeal in their own way:

The availability of apps and themes for S60 phones is what makes it so great. They just keep churning them out.So I hope you going make the most out of your new baby gucci.Start filling up that memory card like theres no tomorrow.Great sites out there.I like a site called Novaks. That guys got S60 totally sussed.Hey Wangs.Thats the strangest looking Nokia man. What in heavens name made you get that? Other than that nice little collection you got there. My boss is also collecting SE phones shes used.So far she has the T68i,k700i and shes getting that black clamshell.I think its called Z600i.I sometimes play on her k700i and its a great little phone. Its got a awesome screen.Small but so crisp and clear.Nice keypad.Just an allround great little phone.Gave her a vodafone branded k500i to add to her collection that i had.One of the most disappointing phones i think i've ever owned. And I'll give her the P990i in two months when I get my Nokia E90.lol yeah right.

To catch up, and reply as I read:

Congrats to all the awards winners:-) I am glad we also did well...

So, about the Harry Potter thing, I obtained a copy from my local 3G connection. All it cost me was 4 fake torrent downloads, then got the real one. I decided i wanted to finish the story I started reading so many years ago. Good news: that annoying house-elf from the second movie dies. Other than that, I think Rowling did a good job, and actually wrote a book that is half worth reading. And once again, it was great being able to read it on my phone. I really should stop being a book pirate. If I go on like this, fake books will start circulating the street, badly printed books:-)

My fiend is here from China, to marry his wife in front of his parents, to prove to us that he really is married:-) Anyway, he brought his phone, which would have been an HtC if it was from around here, but it is called something else...slipped my mind. And the phone works lekker. I would love a handset like that! We might be taking a trip to Sabie next weekend, if all goes according to plan. Will take some pictures and upload it for you guys if we do go. That is, Sudwala Caves, the mountains, Pilgrims Rest, Potholes, God's Window(Which is sure to be open, as it always is when I get to go there:-( ) and some other sights and sounds.

Talking about the beamer over the traffic circle, a week or two ago a guy drove his hummer up the licensing departments stairs in "silent protest" at their lack of and pathetic service.

Talking about driving like a maniac, last time at Sabie, Im was there with maniacs, and we did a lot of over 120km/h driving up and down the scary mountain routes, the ones that max at 80...that, my dear friends is crazy, but fun!

About the net addict thing, we all go through stages, and I have my days, but I never let it get in the way of my life. If I rather stay at home for surfing and chatting than go to invited events, I know something is wrong. When I don't post for quite a while like the last week, it means I am busy, and life takes priority. If I post a lot it means things at work is slow. But we try to keep busy these days. Back in the day when I worked office the whole time, I posted a lot, but now I only get time in the evenings when I am not doing other stuff.

@ wanqa, about the admin thing, spent some time at CHC, the school, and the teachers are printing reports. Printer is set up right so that all 3 pc's in the teachers work room will print to it, but the teachers seem to keep on unplugging the printer and plugging it into their machines when they want to print, despite printing working 100%...nothing a cable tie and a sarcastic note could not fix. And might I add, apologies to all women, we don't have this problem with the male teachers. hehe!

Oh, about the Linux phone, my friend should get it. He will completely program the thing to work with a command prompt, I tell ya! It's functionality will be great...you would have to type in the name or the number of the person to phone them, sms's would be a shlep...but he would like it...hehe!

@ Gucci, RIP for your W900i....Mine is still happily working, reading a lot of books on it, play few games, and spend a lot of time catching up on tech news on my phone. N80 not bad at all though, when I got my w900i, it was between the n80, which only got released 6 months later anyway in SA, and the w900i, so I went SE...Mine is close to 15-16 months old, I think?! You should seriously consider the w960i as an upgrade, but if some N8* range phone floats your boat, I will not argue, since they are not bad...
N80 has a package where you can edit skins and looks and such, but then we are talking about maximum look and feel changes...it is just a big download as I remember...50-100mb somewhere?! But there are many nice skins available...searched for my one friend once when I had bandwidth to waste.

@ hobbs, was just wondering, are you trying to bed her?! hehe! Glad you at least got your senses together...keep that baby forever...the p990i

Sorry for the long post, just catching up. It is the way of the Francois:-) Time for bed...
