Specwise is impressive. The camera side of the phone looks awful and cheap IMHO. Lack of xenon flash is a killer too for me. Does have VGA though.

Just wondering. Would anyone skip this and wait for the rumoured 10 megapixel SE phone that'll be announced next May and released in June/July?

^ No way, 8MP is over kiill for mobile phone anyway. Only way I would actually wait is if SE announced a better quality 5MP camera phone.

Samsung's INNOV8 has high praises at GSMArena. Just hope that C905 will not going to be a disappointment but rather will surpass INNO's cam quality. Crossed-fingers, anyone?

As of now, there is really nothing to choose between the phones. The cam pics are almost the same. But the innov8 doesnt seem to make good landscape shots..have a look.

Hi there,

Some new info. with regards to the video rec. of the C905.

The reason why Sony Ericsson has opted for the QVGA res. for video rec. is that according to people at SE is that when viewed except on a comp. it would be displayed at full VGA res. on your TV screen, whatever the size of your TV.

If you would view it on your comp it would be in QVGA but then again can be edited to full VGA and still would be crisp according to SE. As well in QVGA would be easily displayed on your C905 display and all videos can be uploaded to Youtube/daily motion ... etc. As well you can view Youtube videos on your cell.

The C905 is designed to take your multimedia files direct from your phone to your TV screen. So all TV out files would be displayed at VGA res.

As well the lense of the C905 is made of mineral glass, the same as the screen/display.

Hope this helps.

Ciao.

Smape says it's the final cam version? I don't think so...

Sure they takes the picture yesterday (August 1st), but C905 that they has still boasting an old firmware, probably still prototypes... The EXIF even doesn't contains geotagging... The quality is still stunning though...

Anda at least, final production unit will has a new firmware revision

I hav compared C905 pics from Smape and Innov8 from GSMArena, and I hav to sadly admit that both of them has pretty same performance, and Smape's C905 clearly using CMOS module, not CCD, with a purple fringing appears. In Innov8, I don't see any lens problem, so Samsung has a little advantage in daylight pictures. But Xenon Flash in C905 will clearly makes a big deal in night pic.

Look at Innov8 samples HERE.

Unsatisfied C905 samples

But I still has a faith that C905 final has a better details. Smape is using an old ones

@micks2005,
Mineral glass lenses? Good news, hope it will also corrects lens problem (at least in Smape's C905.)

Edited to full VGA? Makes a sense, since I thought that C905's video samples bit rate is too high for QVGA.

View Youtube videos on your cell? Does "your cell" refers to C905? Are you sure NetFront 3.4 browser that embedded in C905 supports YouTube .flv streaming? Can you confirm this? It has FlashLite 2.0 suports?

As I know, Samsung Innov8 supports streaming YouTube just like in your PC. Hope C905 has that ability too, because I use YouTube a lot

By the way, nice illumination effects:

@ Hiron

Yup, your cell refers to the C905 ... !!! I think the browser in C905 the Netfront browser ver. is abit higher, as well you can get Opera installed as well.

The C905 supports .flv streaming as it has adobe flash lite support with regards to the Project Capuchin.

So you can view, download and upload Youtube videos.

Hope this helps.

Ciao.
