Again, this might not be very reliable, but it's said the Z1 will be able to take
4k@30fps at the same time as burst mode 20mp pictures at 10 pictures per second.
My source is common sense. Today's chipset can't playback a
4K@60fps, not to mention record at this resolution, it's ridicolous. Maybe in 2 years things will change, maybe.
and common sense would also dictate that
"able to take" =/= playback and
4K@30fps =/= ">4K@60fps
considering Z1 can burst mode 30 frames in 1 second at 8mp resolution (i.e., 4K), it's definitely plausible that a future software updates will enable
4K@30fps recording (which is what Away said).
Oh and @northmonkey .. yes.. you HAD interest. You no longer do. The rest of us who are STILL interested would probably prefer you refrain from recurring posts about your disappointment in the camera. It doesn't add to the discussion and litters the thread.

AFAIK Z1 can take 61 20MP photos in 2 seconds. But it's only for 2 seconds, they can use some extra memory to store that, but with video they have to process all these photos and at the same time take another ones, that requiers A LOT of power. That's why no 4K on Z1 even if it can take many high res photos within a second. Exactly same reason why
4K@60fps is impossible

I was on about the back cover problem and screen breaking issue on the Z a few pages back and people said I was trolling! how many people on here have had problems with the back cover coming apart or the screen breaking on the Z?

@admad .. your logic would be fine if there were no other devices at the same processing power as the Z1 which were able to record
4K@30fps. But, there is. Both the acer liquid and the note 3, which have similar processing power can record 4K.

Hardwareluxx.de review:
http://www.hardwareluxx.de/in[....]m-test-frisch-von-der-ifa.html
Although the display of the Xperia Z1 can with a mean maximum brightness 399 cd / m² certainly be read in sunlight, which is devoted to the measurements of contrast, however, can not convince entirely. With 532:1 he is even well below-cost devices such as Acer Liquid E 1, or else the BlackBerry Q10, HTC One or the direct competitor LG G2. Of a high-end device with a quite high price you would expect here more clearly - Black should be black, not like the Z1 with an always visible gray veil.

I hope that my source won`t mind that I Share some of the info I was given.
Panel lottery for the Z1 confirmed btw.
Vendors:
JDI type 1 - AH-IPS (this was used for the ZU)
JDI type 2 - VA (Xperia Z/ZL leftovers)
Sharp - VA (Xperia Z/ZL leftovers)
Samsung - S-PLS (Will only be used after all the VA panels are used up)
Sony is using up the remaining inventory from Z/ZL and mixing in some AH-IPS panels. Once all the VA panels are used up Sony will only use AH-IPS and S-PLS panels.
This would explain why some prototypes and production units have outstanding displays and some are just like Z/ZL.
Info on different panels types.
PLS panels are supposedly better than IPS panels according to this video that compares all panel types.

My information might not be reliable but it'll get 4k 60fps soon.
This model?
Nope, but a Z3 or Z4 might just do that
Seems like my information and your information is conflicting.

*facepalm*
It's because of people like you I can't troll successfully. I was being sarcastic. No wonder you're always the last to get things...
Are the S-LCDs better than the AH-IPSs?

There you have it ladies and gentleman, same old Sony being cheap, they will lose their reputation and never be Androids number 1.

@DACHA,
thanks for sharing info mate. So, we should wait for few months until all shitty supplies are gone? Or is it maybe market dependent, like different markets get different screens?
Cheers,
Miki
