Oh don't worry tony, I hate your guts too!
lol, but I do like all of this uncertainty. Knowing everything about the phones before the event can be disappointing, even if the phones are quite good. I like a bit of mystery as we get closer to the event.

So regardless of name the premium successor will have 4K but the question is will it be announced at mwc?
Even if it does, when will it be available.
If there is two top tier phones and the leaked one is the regular one, that makes me think how tall the 4K one will be. Unless it is the 4K one and the regular (2K) will come later.

There usually is a new phone for September but they release 2 regular sized (xz2-3), one big (xz2p) and if there's one 1 compact. Rumor is the big one will appear individually at mwc without the smaller one.
That would be smart to reduce costs and self sabotage. And the Sept version of the regular was kind of always the better one of the two anyways.

Check this out.
I don't know why Sony doesn't use this iconic design to differentiate.
Tony, tell them to look no further than their own legacy.

To be honest sony was the brand that started the glass metal sandwich and ip rating combo for flagship phones... Most manufacturers just followed suite
For desingns sony doesnt have to look beyond y concept
I dont know why they arent implementing it
Y concept type desing or an xz1 type design eith metal built or glass built and minimalist bezels would look great along with speakers grills of z2 with the hidden notification light (which was one of the favourite feature for me)

People should be glad they dont follow some trends.
Look at s10e, I cant tell if it is a S10e, nova4 or honor v20.

Sony should be setting up trends.. Not following as they are doing now.. By removing the 3.5mm jack

But glass sandwich wasn't new iPhone had it before. While Z was also iconic it was copied immediately and became generic. Y design looks good but it might have the deadliest corners ever.
But the arc design is unique to Xperia. I never saw any other company copy it and everybody I mean everybody likes it. And it really is beautiful. Tested and approved. That's why I think it is a better choice but it's still a matter of taste and of course, design constraints.
They followed 2:1, galaxy front no jack. It's not like they have no faults.

Actually from an engineering perspective i think it will be easier to put contents in a phone which is as flat as possible and the internal volume can be used to the max.
In xz2 and arc like design i think some internal space is wasted due to the curves
And in arc design the middle of the phone is very narrow and it would be difficult to provide a reasonable battery size.
They can of course make some refinements in the y concept i think to make holding it easier due to angulations. z2 was also difficult to hold in landscape during long gaming sessions

Of course, boxy would be both easier and more spacey. That's why xz2 design was a failure imo. If it was arc, at least it would have been beautiful.
Oled screens, efficient socs are becoming more common. It's a good time to try arc again.
About Y, I think the xa3 renders looks like it without the diamond cuts. The shape resembles Y design. I might be the only one who thinks this though.
