I have made couple of photos with driver 9.90 and 5.6c too. Both drivers are pretty good, but the driver 9.90 can focus an object in a shorter distance then v 5.6c. It is about 8 cm.
9.90
5.6c

I find that problem too but I just go further away focus, hold it and then move in closer lol dont know whether that's correct to do that but it works

@EduX
Yeah I see what you mean, in the 9.90 photo the black text was clearer but if you look in close the quality is much better in the 5.6c version.
To macro on text, I usually find using macro, night and the flash or light when taking the photo and it seems to work.. although when you use the normal light flash you will see the light spot...

Mate,it has the same settings from the v9.90...i dont have any problem with the macro at all,for macro, there must be at least 5cm from the object... this phone doesnt have super macro zoom like in the real digi cams which do have 2.0cm macro distance.....
I don't understand why the macro doesnt works well on yours.....
Btw thanks for the highlight!
I'll do a check up on it....i'll adjust if i have to....

Well, I went on a shooting spree this night in a child's birthday party, and I noticed that pictures taken with the light on in nightmode tends to be overexposed...
I'll post some pics tomorrow, and you guys will understand.
But nitemode without light is superb. As video recording is.

See if you understand what I'm trying to say:
A vase of flowers [Nightmode: On / Macro: Off / Light: On / WB: Fluorescent]
My girl [Nightmode: On / Macro: Off / Light: On / WB: Fluorescent]
We @ elevator [Nightmode: On / Macro: Off / Light: Off / WB: Auto]
The white flowers on the first pic almoast disapeared.
As did her face on pic n° 2.
Pic 3 is perfect.
Later I'll show some videos.
