Haha!
It's a Ford GT40, specifically the one driven by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon at Le Mans (I forget the year) when the controversially won the race.

They were in 2nd place and the first placed GT40 was told to slow down so the two cars could cross the finish line together to maximize the photo opportunity -Ford beating Ferrari at LeMans was obviously a big thing. Anyway, because the two cars crossed the line exactly together, the officials decided the winner was the car which travelled the greatest distance in the 24 hrs and awarded the victory to the "2nd placed" McLaren/Amon car.

Hmmm... Could it have been 1966?

I think I just heard a report on the radio in the room next door about Black+White being available now? I couldn't hear it properly so I can't be sure... Will do some research.

EDIT: Yep, looks like it... No SE phones though!

That's because the K800i is just too awesome a phone and it would be blasphemy if its price was lowered to below $400

Looks like the Xperia isn't nearly as good as it was hyped up to be... The menu's pretty sluggish according to this review...

And for $800USD, it might not be entirely worth it. Looks like I'll stick with my trusty K800i

This from the NZ Herald today:

Police want prepay mobiles registered
12:26PM Tuesday Oct 28, 2008

Police are calling for prepaid cellphone customers to be registered on a national database to stop criminals using the phones.

Criminals are known to use the phones, which can be purchased without identification, because they believe they cannot be traced and can be disposed of easily.

Detective Senior Sergeant Darrin Thomson, of the Wellington metro crime unit, said the phones provided a "significant challenge" for police and requiring people to provide identification to buy one would help catch criminals.

"The use of prepaid cellular phones is a common use amongst the criminal fraternity, particularly at the higher level, and anything that would help us thwart that anonymity would be fabulous," he told The Dominion Post.

Vodafone said it would support a government-mandated register and Telecom said it was open to discussions.

I can understand the motivation for doing it but I can't see it working, it'll just create another black market. Crims won't register phones. Even car registration doesn't stop them, they just steal number plates. As someone who has lost several phones and not got them back, I would like to see more biometric scanners in phones like in the Porsche Design P9521.

The vast majority of people only join up to access the free content, those who are going to hang around will pop up in the forum eventually.

Disappointing that B&W haven't brought lower Data prices to the marketplace but then I guess they are at the mercy of Vodafone's wholesale price.

LG viewty half price -$499 on the Dick Smith Electronics website. Not bad for a 5 Mp camera, 120 fps video, widescreen, touchscreen device.
