Anyone know the name of the tech Sony is using on the Z Ultra for the stylus support? I'm really hopeful they integrate it for all future high end phones and tablets.
Pixel eyes perhaps?

I read somewhere it was this
http://www.neonode.com/solutions/zforce/
Neonode technology called Z-Force which can sensse almost everything... from a pen to a brush to a teeth to a stick to a rimmel to a fork to a spoon to a leg to a nose to a brick to a motorsaw to a knife to a plasma-cutter

Nah, it doesn't seem to be Neonodes tech. Youtube vids I've seen indicate it can only pick up metallic signatures. Objects like paint brushes would not work here, and there is no pressure sensitivity.
This vid even shows a fork being used on the Z Ultra at about 4:40

Yeah, that's the last video I saw on the matter. I wonder if it's a custom built Sony tech, or if it's something they licensed from someone else.
Either way, it seems to work quite well. Since it's a brand new tech, I hope they can eventually get it improved to the point where the response time is barely noticable to the Human eye. If this is in Honami then I'm going to love being able to use my keys as a stylus to minimize fingerprints and improve touch accuracy.

lol, wouldnt expect much from sammy, htc, and lg
sony has always known for optimizing their own software with qualcomm chips better than any OEM manufactures.
Lol what an ignorant and wishful statement. Everyone outside of the sony fanboy bubble knows sony has some of the worst android implementations available. it was terrible when they had the timescape ui and they hve gradually gotten better, but even the xperia Z still lags a bit with a quad core proc and mainstream reviews say it feels like a dual-core phone. Amazing how far ignorance can make people believe whatver they want. I will have to enlighten the sony sheep from time to time with a hard dose of reality. Its the least i can do for society!

Lol. It becomes clear you never used a Sony or SE phone. Xperia UI is known to be lightweight and the better optimised system. Timescape is just an optional addon. Don't like it, disable Timescape. It's very simple how Sony UI works. My friend's S3, for the first few months was smooth. But gradually became slow and laggy.

I wonder what sort of accessories we can hope to see with the inclusion of this new magnetic charging connector. Z Ultra has already shown the dock of course. I do hope we eventually get either cases or screen covers with built in expandable batteries and that such accessories extend to the other deviecs that'll use this port.
Such a shame this port doesn't allow data transfer too. however, I do wonder if Sony will eventually put out a line of speaker docks where you can pair the phone via NFC and place the phone on one of these charging ports.

@ katamari201
^ Can you name the mainstream reviewers you're talking about? As far as I know the mainstream reviewrs are gsmarena, Cnet, verge and phonearena. You just need to check benchmark scores; Nexus4 with same hardware scores 30% less than Xperia Z on AnTuTu HTC Butterfly also scores 10% less than Xperia Z on AnTuTu. S4 with much better CPU is only just faster than Xperia Z. HTC One is the only phone which is clearly smoother than Xperia Z but Xperia ZU will probably beat it.
Indeed it's amazing how far ignorance can make people believe whatever they want.
@ vivftp
I hope they release a cable which is compatible with magnetic charging port rather than a dock.
