LG viewty half price -$499 on the Dick Smith Electronics website. Not bad for a 5 Mp camera, 120 fps video, widescreen, touchscreen device.

I only like the Viewty for its 120fps video recording function. Slow-mo movies, anyone?

Foreign currency 101: when the NZ dollar drops against the $US, everything gets more expensive... in May last year the Reserve Bank had to intervene because the $NZ was at record highs, now they may intervene because we are at a 5 year low. The Aussie RB has already intervened to raise the Aussie dollar. Now is not a good time to import a cellphone, but officially supplied phones are selling at record low prices to clear stock in a Market where people have stopped using their credit cards.

Yeah I understand that, but still when you're used to phones not really ever being over the $1500 mark, a $2000 phone is quite a shocking sight!

@yea g: Congratulations! That was quick! And nah I haven't, where do you buy them from?

PI has the HTC Touch Pro, I saw one on the weekend in Manukau. Can't remember the price though - something like $1300 I think. It seemed a little too small for my liking but with a SE UI and all the things the iPhone is missing it'll be hard to ignore.

Edit: it's actually $1600 according to the website.

Haha, they never have a chance. I'm voting for Winston Peters and his party. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to have him as Prime Minister!?
