apart frm tht rumor, there is another one tht nokia is releasing the 8 mp not this yr but next year because of n96 ... which is not released yet ..

i read it on this thread sum pages back
cant remember exactly which one ..

we will just have to wait and c which one is true

Asking again: Whwn will the C905 be out? I´ve read here that it will be out in late august but some say october. Care to shed some light on this matter?

True, 3 of my Ericsson and SE's have survived full on water-related insidence without immediate action on my behalf due to the situation. I still have 2 of them in working condition and had I not lost the 3rd one to theft then it'd probably work still. I do believe it is partly impeccable build quality and parts as well

Smape has finally backed me up ... and this is what they had to say ...

"The gossip alleging the use of a same camera unit both in C905 and i8510 (or, in some interpretations, a downgraded version of the i8510 camera is claimed to be used in C905) is nothing but idle talk officially denounced by Sony Ericsson representatives, leaving no ground for further speculations. SE are going to implement a different and better camera which, combined with the latest firmware available, is capable of taking shots challenging the quality of pictures acquired with a compact digital camera."

And specs wise as well in comparison to Samsung

"As long as working samples of i8510 are unavailable in Russia, we can’t stage a real-life test, so the only thing we’re left with are the two devices’ specification sheets, and C905 scores a clear win ‘on the paper’."

I hope now you can get over the dumb fact that the C905 has a Samsung sensor in it, as we both (Smape & Me) have to denounced what Eldar, the siberian twit has been rambling about for awhile when he compared C905 to Samsung's INNOV8.

As well M-r and GSMarena have been totally rebuffed as even Samsung officials have added a quote and all the pics in circulation claming to be of the INNOV* are NOT, I say again NOT taken by the INNOV8. Looks like GSMArena and Mobile-Review are losing credibility now ... this is what smape and samsung officials had to say

"The initial samples of i8510 which have fallen in the hands of certain telecom experts appear to be completely defunct (a phone won’t boot up after powering on) so the recently published judgments on camera quality are far on the speculative side and hardly credible, - even some of the Samsung officials disturbed by the rumors aired their disapproval about the circulating allegations."

And Eldar comparing the 2 devices is totally unfounded as

"It should be kept in mind that the only thing we would really see as a reasonable point for comparison is the camera, the rest of features hardly making a good matter for comparisons – C905 is a casual phone while i8510 is a smartphone, hence the big difference."
