Its mind boggling to think about the future of phones....
Its like a mad race now with so many features and addons....
I wish the whole of symbian to be common platform so that developers can make plenty of application...
THe best Eg is that of windows.. that has always been so same ( can be boring as well) .. and see the no. of applications that are coming out...
So if symbian releases different OS so frequently we will have numbers but not quality..
P5i ( or any new model) that is release will be packed with features but higher end users also need good quality 3rd party applications to meet all their needs...

I am sure it will work . But dont u think it would have been much much better had SE allowed porting of UIQ2 application to UIQ3 and if possible s60 to uiq
If you follow the WM , third party applications can run palm and blackberry applications in it and microsoft provides plenty of support to that
Every one knows that mac is better than windows.. but then why is it every not buying a mac ????
All said, if possible i will be one of the first persons to buy p5i

I dont think P5 is te p990 successor, it got no flip. And i hope P5 will be out before 2009.
But i guess it's true, the p990 successor will be out late 2008 - early 2009, and this mdel will have a flip..ehh Im losing my point, i hope you get shat I mean....

Eldar talks about SE touchscreen phones from 12:28 to 12:48 of the podcast.
He clearly says the first device will be announced in the end of 2007 and out in end of Q1/beginning of Q2, and the second touchscreen device will be out in the beginning of 2009. Earlier in the podcast he said the device which will be announced this year will be the iPhone competitor.
So there are three possible situations:
1. First device - iPhone competitor(Maria) announced by the end of the year. Second device - P990i successor(P5i) - the one which won't be ready till late 2008/early 2009.
2. Maybe Eldar refers to P5i as "iPhone competitor", which isn't very correct IMO. P5i won't be "iPhone competitor", but more "iPhone overkiller". But if thats the case, the second device is a P5i update or "iPhone2 competitor".
3. Maybe P5i and Maria are one and the same device. P5i with the new UIQ will be a strong multimedia phone so thats possible.
So I thought the first possible situation is far more possible than the others, but now I am thinking again. December,12 is when Eldar said there will be an announcement. Please send me a PM with his exact words(in Russian,please).
