A board that hasn't got that interest, should be replaced right away.

@razec - i tend to go through phases when there's a phone i want! and Z1 is it! after a week or two of having it, i'll probably disappear again until it's time for an upgrade

and yes, those cases for lens attachment are sold separately. xperiablog posted prices for them recently..

Is this the first pool drop test by Sony Xperia Z1?

The quality is good but I am not sure it actually is the Z1 we got here.

Z1 Daylight Photo Samples! They look fantastic to me.. most shot in superior auto mode.. a few with HDR mode

much more here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alv1nw/sets/72157635506413882/

I also took the liberty of asking this reviewer to try the hand held twilight mode .. so we'll see if he does.

here's also a Z1 v. G2 comparison review..

comments of note:

"Sony’s Xperia Z1 features an impressive 5-inch Full HD LCD display with Triluminos and X-Reality technology. The screen is capable of 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, rated at a whopping 440 ppi. The Xperia Z1 has great viewing angles, and the colors really pop out. The brightness levels is also really impressive in this handset."

"Verdict: On paper, the Xperia Z1 and LG G2′s display’s are fairly similar, but the Xperia Z1 pulls out the trump card with the TRILUMINOS and X-Reality technology."

seeing that the back cover of the Z1 is only glued on again, like on the Z, I'm wondering if it's going to start to lift in the future and compromise the waterproofness?!

I'm currently on the XZ which has the lifted back cover and amazon will refund me what I paid in April because of this defect. I guess I'll put a few Euros on top of it and get the Z1. This way, I can get a new Z1 for 93€ (as of now, prices will surely go down quickly once it is released.)

Having currently this issue, this is of very much interest to me and also if the phone is going to heat up like the XZ and thermal throttling sets in....

Plus: Do you think, that 4k@30fps or 1080p@60 fps will be possible something in the future via a 3rd party app or a mod or even an official firmware update to 4.3. or 4.4.? I mean the chipset certainly supports it.

@drsoran2 - sorry to hear about your Z problems but glad it hasn't pushed you away from Sony. The video upgrades you asked about are certainly possible, though there is no way of knowing whether sony will implement it. I suppose if there is enough consumer interest on their blogs/twitter/facebook.. then they might stick it in a future update, if its not already there.

regarding whether Z1 will have the back cover and heating issues that i guess some Z's have, time will tell. According to the infographic for the ZU, they used a large copper sheet to dissipate heat. Maybe they used the same with the Z1. In addition, the Z1 also has a solid aluminum frame, which will also help dissipate heat faster and may help keep the device cooler. But ya.. like i said, time will tell. But, its great to hear that amazon is giving you a refund after 5 months! That's what i call service
