I remember a slide show presentation by Mats Pettersson, Vice President, Platform Planning, SE, where he gave the predicted specs of SEs flagshp for 2010. Heres some of the main features:
-Quadband GSM
-8MP Camera + Optical zoom
-WVGA 30fps video recording
-any codec music player
-video telephony
-ARM 11 @400 MHz+ ARM 9 processor
-WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n
-Bluetooth + UWB
-Multiple cards+ 8 GB built-in memory
-TV, GPS, Compass, NFC, RF-ID, Accelerometer etc
-100 x 40 x 12mm

That is all straight out of the horses mouth. Now of course, things may change, it looks like processors may have already changed, but my point is, if they want to reach these targets, and have the device just 12mm thick aswell, this Symbian Foundation would have to be some fairly hefty stuff to enable some of these things to be possible.

Buhahaha!
2010? Awesome!
And what until then?
Guys, I think it's time to forget SE smartphones forever (or for years). If this news will be confirmed - I mean the CONSEQUENCES of that - I'm selling my P990 in one week and just start investing in some more SURE future, or more REAL, like WM maybe....Which develops fast. I cannot believe SE fcuked it SOOOO MUCH!!! Bravo. Suck my a..!
And I don't want Nokia....
As I know, nothing to wait for from SE smartphones for a long time...
They're just good at A platform.

That will sound less than average for a flagship in 2010.
WVGA recording - soon in lg (and perhaps nokia too)
As usual, they lag 2 generations (cortex-a9 will be out by then!)

It is stated that the new Symbian OS is backward compatible only to Nokia s60v3 apps and not to UIQ3.

If that's the case, it will make the future SE handsets with that OS to be also compatible with old s60v3 apps or even s60 touch apps(?)

Also, there's nothing wrong if SE will modify the new OS for their own handsets for UIQ3 compatibility.
