One of my sources sent me the specs of the camera (Thanks a lot!). He says the i1 phone (Honami) will have a selectable ISO range from 50-12,800 and it uses Super Steady Shot image stabilisation (2-3 stops). It also has an f/2.0 28mm equivalent lens. The sensor is a 20MP 2/3″ BSI Exmor R one using the same process as as the RX100mkII for superior low light performance. The phone will also have manual controls for shutter speed and some level of manual aperture control and it will have an all new Cyber-shot app which integrates with PlayMemories Online.

nice...f2.0 28mm match htc one lens.... 20mp 2/3 same process as rx100mk2...damn awesome...
whats the different between SSS and OSS?

why not improve front camera too...use wide angle lens like htc...

No surprises here because we have already pretty much established that Honami is gonna be the best phone of '13.

With or without Xenon or some minor details...

Sonys Super Steady Shot tech in action

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11mYNAjHqXA

It should eliminate those tiny movements we see causing jittery results on the Z and ZL.

Hopefully one day we'll see Sonys Balanced Optical Steady Shot tech in a phone

Does SSS work with still pictures as well?

Unlikely that balanced optical steadyshot will make it into a smartphone, unless its ridiculously thick. That would be the only reasonable way to allow for the entire sensor and lens unit to move and compensate for movement.

i've never liked those anti-shake techs.. i haven't experienced one that worked all that well though.

i just used tried and true photography techniques to keep shake to a minimum.

Still, a man can dream

If all the info thus far about Honami turns out to be true, I'm going to be SO damned glad I decided to skip over the Z/ZL to get it. Going from my ancient x10a with cracked screen to Honami will be practically orgasmic

Now turning our attention back to the July 4th event, there's still the question of just wtf this event is meant to showcase. They've already blown their load with Z Ultra and the Smartwatch 2. What's left? There's the mystery of the unique device shown on the invitation, and it's doubtful this event is meant to showcase low end devices. It could be a tablet they're going to show, but some here have said no 7 inch tablet, and the form factor of the device on the invite doesn't work too well for a larger tablet. It could be another variant of Z Ultra, but it doesn't maeke much sense to have an entirely different event for that IMO. Honami or another high end like a Z refresh are the only possibilities that make any sense to me.

*sigh* 4 more days to go to solve this mystery.
