Hi all
As the firmware thread has shut this looks like the only place to talk about the M600.

@intelegent115
The built in Music player is excellent i use the Disc2Phone software and as space is not an issue encode @192kbps MP3's. If you want album art to work in my experience you need to find the album art save it as a jpeg and place it in the same folder as the tracks not in its own folder.

I know some say the Video Player is fussy but most of my stuff is converted to 3gp or Real Media files and all plays no problem, sorry but no idea of encoding as the software i use does it automatically.

Since reloading everything i have concluded that the list view is much quicker than grid view. Pop3 E-mail on scheduled retrieval works well and can be disabled when needed. The Calendar also works well for me with Outlook as do contacts and even notes. The picture Gallery with slide transitions is also good. Opera i find to be very slow on loading so am trying Opera Mini Beta but having to input all my bookmarks again is a pain. Bluetooth to the HBH-DS970 appears far more stable for some reason though not complaining.

I also find the PC Suite to be quite slow and impossibly so over bluetooth so have resorted to using the cable, as i fell asleep whilst trying to transfer a video over bluetooth. But i have had no crashes freezes or restarts but then i am quite aggressive with SwissManager i have 17mb odd Ram after boot up and usually 13mb after using Swiss manger to shut apps.

I still think it is the slimmest sexiest smart phone by a long way its size and style are stunning IMO. The promise of firmware updates are also good, summer time outside with the screen may be a problem as it is a bit fussy IMO. But for now my Data Sim is in the M600 and i am using it as my primary phone. The N93 has WiFi so am using that for Data to compare to 3G just to see the difference.

I have "View as grid" enabled only in main menu for everything else i use list option. Find it quite sexy and fast as well. I still havent got a giga card but surely will soon. After almost 1 week with M600i i can only say that i love it.

HI!

Can anyone tell me a good video/mp3 player for a M600i. I have searched around and didnt find much. Can anyone who has experience with this stuff tell me what are the best encoding settings for videos on M600? what is max resolution or how can i get the best quality. Does it only support *.mp4?

hi,
i use winavi mp4 converter to convert any videos to mp4. i use 320*240 pixel, 30 fps, 512kbps video bitrate, 24000 audio sample rate and 128 audio bitrate and runs smoothly.
as i know, it only supports .3gp, .mp4,.ram and .rm extensions for videos and .3ga, .aac, .m4a, .amr, .au, .imy, .mid, .mp3, .rmf, .wav, .mxmf, .ra extensons for audio files

@k800user: thank you for that. So i guess you use standard built in player for viewing media files. Is there any UIQ 3.0 video player out there?

Any info on x64 drivers?

A friend recently bought an M600i and has been experiencing certain problems. When hooked up to pc via usb, phone is not detected, and sometimes phone freezes.
Then the bizarre one. Each time the phone comes out of standby, it displays the message "battery low" even when the battery is fully charged.
Whats the latest firmware version, and will an upgrade solve this problem?

Found a M600 stylus in a shop in Farnham (UK, Hampshire) today. PM me if its yours, and let me know which shop you think it might be and will return via Royal Mail.
