That's what I was talking about. If you turn on Wi-Fi prior to running Opera Mini, the browser will refuse to connect to the internet. If you run Opera Mini and you see the blue globe on the upper right corner then it's running off your GPRS/EDGE/3G. Which means that the current OM build for SE handsets does not allow you to use Wi-Fi at all! I can confirm this because the BB version of Opera Mini (installed on both my Bold and Storm) clearly has an extra checkbox for a Wi-Fi protocol.

AFAIK SE only allows Wi-Fi connectivity via their default NetFront browser.

here wifi works just fine ... much faster then 3G and i use opera mini.
is your internet icon green like mine? or white? (white with no green backround is not connected)

He means that the Wifi would work on his phone just a WiFi protocool can't go through on the W995 because WiFi is not supported by 3rd party browsers only for NetFront.

@se_love
Thanks mate for summing that up. Exactly what I meant, I guess I got too technical.

Wow that was a hilariously bad read. The W995 by the way is 10 euros less here. No way will it become the flagship. Yeah okay.

Here's an interesting review about the w995 with some background info on SE as well.
