Congrats!

If you have any question shoot.. I've been dealing with it since 2012

And also, like a pointed out earlier, allaboutsymbian is a good resource.

I would recommend flashing it with the latest delight CFW which seems to be the most efficient and stable one out there, but if you don't have any experience with flashing a Symbian device you might not want to deal with it.

One of the most realistic articles:

The Lumia 1020, like the 808 before it, still has unique selling points (in terms of photo quality, reframing/zooming flexibility and low light shots of people), and it seems that we still have at least another year of updates ahead. So celebrate the 1020 and don't give up on it.

And don't you dare sell the Lumia 1020. Those who sold on the Nokia 808 PureView have bitterly regretted it - these devices are classic of modern tech engineering.

That coupled with these:

"If you own one of @Nokia's fantastic #41MP #Pureview devices, cherish it, I have the strong feeling we'll never see this sensor used again."
https://twitter.com/PureViewClub/status/491494179454078976

"Cancellation of the McLaren (1020 Successor) is no rumor. Microsoft firing 12.500 (!) @nokia employees isn't either. Everything they hoped for seems gone."

The 808 is a milestone ... its rare that we get one device that pushes the boundaries as far as the 808 did when it was launched. I plan on adding mine to my collection for sure.

By the way the "McLaren" wasn't a 1020 successor...

Dropbox (and by that I meant any app using the Dropbox API) no longer working on Symbian devices.

Time to get an iPhone and move the 808 in the hall of fame.

^ Have you tried FilesPlus ? It still works with dropbox and onedrive one my end. Are you talking about CuteBox ?

But yes.. sadly one by one a lot of "must have" services will stop working because of API changes if the app dev doesn't update their app.

Nokia maps, google maps, and skype are the important ones for me... so far they are still working so I am ok.

I am also waiting for the new iPhone .. i think they are aiming at 1.9 micron pixels @ 13Mpix which would give us great dynamic range, better than the 808 for sure.. I just want to see how wide their lens is, if they keep that same narrow FoV it won't work for me.

Also, we should see another camera flagship from Microsoft.. unless they've decided to scarp it for the sake of their other wp "partners" .. we will see.

Okay... maybe I've gone too far, but OH WELL - You may remember that a while back, I set my Oakleys up to match my 808

Well, now I have finally scored a casio mudman G-shock G-9000 to go with the set

^ yes, sad news... I use it on a daily basis so this would hurt. I wouldn't be surprised if they cut the maps somehow as well..

Not sure what makes them think that by doing stuff like that would make me buy a windows phone..

Nah, I like it 808 looks great in two colors.. especially the red. I will give myself credit for starting the trend

Did you get the message from AT&T ? No more loophole.. they automatically put me in the 3gb plan.. had to change to one of the shared data plans because the 3gb+texting was just silly.

I think you had to switch for the 1020 anyway so you probably didn't get it..

It was a good run, but we knew it will end one day..
