I have lotsa Hindhu friends, Im not speculating just calling it how it is.

I have lots of friends of various religions; Muslims, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, agnostics (I know, not a religion per se), Sikhs, etc. Just because I know them doesn't mean to say that I have any sort of meaningful understanding of their religious beliefs.

From what I have seen in this thread so far you see practices in Hinduism, which you do not fully understand and have offered a range of emotions in relation to such practices; from confusion to scorn to humour to respect. That's fair enough, most people react this way to religious practices other than their own. It is neither criticism nor praise, rather an observation.

I find that where I do not agree on the religious practices practiced by others I ask myself if such practices make them happy and cause no one any harm, if so then I do not concern myself with the matter anymore. I am content to know that that person finds happiness and/or comfort from that practice whether it is in keeping with my own beliefs or not.

If one doesn't wish one's own beliefs to be mocked or ridiculed or feared then one shouldn't react in those ways to others' religious beliefs.

First of all, Allah and God is one and the same.
So if Allah doesn't exist, God doesn't. Allah is God just in the Arabic language.
Now, God doesn't want us to prove he holds our lives, he wants us to make most of our lives by bettering ourselves. (yes similar to how the Bible wants you to be a better person)

So at the end of the day, you'd be surprised how the Quraan and Bible are so close alike.

In Christianity you have to fast as well. (isn't that focusing on the wrong type of food during fasting?) Also, it is against Christianity to drink. Isn't that the same rule that focuses on food as well?

IT IS AGAINST CHRISTIANITY TO DRINK?

what bollocks is that. to wilfully get drunk, well i dont know, but to drink alcohol.

and even if you did get drunk, god would forgive you, obviously you dont say 'im going to get drunk and god will forgive me' but if you like have too much without knowing your limits, or you are simply having a bad day and being rebellious and if you repent and are sorry its a ok baby!

yeah but you can't just like do bad stuff and then keep on repenting.
When you repent once you are supposed to not do it again.

I assume you mean drink as in alcoholic. If this is the case what about the red wine drunk at a Sunday service (blood of Christ) I’m sure this wine isn’t alcohol free!

What I’d like to know is how a religious person can denounce another religion?

What gives say a Hindu the right to say there god/gods are anymore “real” than a Muslim, Christian, and Buddhist or vice a versa?

How does a Muslim know he is following the “right” religion?

Or that a Christian will be forgiving for his/her sins. If the Christian got it wrong they’d go to hell according to the Quran which says in nearly every other verse something like “non-believers /Muslims will be sent to hell”.

Or a Muslim could be wasting countless hours of his/her life praying and missing out on fine things like pork, beer, wine and gambolling.

Just because it was writing down a long time ago?
What if 5000 years from now people read about Bush, Blair, Osman , Saddam and Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Tom Cruise. Would they be depicted as gods and demons?

How do you know your faith is the right one?
