122 years is how long it has been since the last occurrence but the next occurrence is in 8 years

BBC news article "This has happened only six times in the telescopic age: in 1631, 1639, 1761, 1769, 1874 and 1882. So, the next will be in 2012, but the one after that will be in 2117."
I also heard the same on CNN this morning

Me thinks that the next venus transit is going to be in 12 years, but not visible in Europe. It'll be visible in Europe just in 100 years.
