help - R1L

I have found that when I access my phone or stick memory via USB or IrDA and if the folder has say 20 files then I cant see the files. I move a few files out the folder (maybe about 10 files by using phone to move them) then I can see the contents of the folder. Wierd - happens for Sounds and Pictures. Anyone else seen this???

Also called SE today (UK) - she said this must be my PC?? Reload the software on the PC and try again. She refused to accept loss of picture and video quality between R1A and R1L. Must be my handset. Duh.

I've done a Master Reset and formatted the Memory Stick. Problem is still there - when the phone has more than a few files in a folder you cannot see them via the USB/IrDA.

I'll call SE and hope to speak to someone less dippy.

BTW - SE call logging on UK website doesnt let you report faults - overloaded?

i am not having that problem either... Are you using the File Manager software that came with the phone? or are you using Explorer to tap into the Memory stick???

Re: right shortcut. Simply use Settings to set it and you don't have to set it again, even if you power off the phone.

Didnt you read the previous posts ? the phone resets the shortcuts if you power off the phone the first few times !

Does nobody think before they post anymore !?

Hey etaab, do you think I will post something that I know will not work?

I've powered off my phone more than 10 times and the setting is still there. I'm on R1L

geez...

I hope you read again and what I'm telling people is that the assignment of the shortcut should be done with "Settings" menu and NOT via the right joystick.

@etaab @arnoldc

I am using the SE software V1.6.9 (work) and 1.7.7 (home) both PCs do this. It only seems to happen with the Phone Memory.

Can someone try storing maybe 20 to 30 files in a folder on the phone memory (not memory stick) then try to access it via USB.

Are the files on the phone memory still visible via USB when the folder contains many files??? My Memory Stick seems to be OK with this - I can see 30+ files

I'm using R1L.

Cheers

hi O2,

I created a folder called Test on the phone memory, used File Manager (1.6.9) and dumped 50 pictures into the folder (took a while!) and they're accessible and visible from File Manager via the USB cable.

Cheers!

@arnoldc

Many Thanks

Looks like my phone is bust then...I'll call O2 since the phone is inside the replacement warranty period.

Another replacement.

Tried with my spare Windows disk (clean install) same problem.

I connected my phone and took a look at my memory stick and noticed their was an MP3 folder. It does not appear in the phone though and placing MP3's into it makes them appear in the phone in the root of the Sounds folder.

Is this correct?
