It sounds like the Honami, like samsung phones, will come with a lot of features.
The only difference i see is that most features listed in this thread sound actually useful
This is getting exciting, and BSI just could be the touch of magic that will make me purchase this phone without regretting pixel binning of Nokia/HTC.
Ramu, what is your take on the announcement date? You stated end Aug before IFA, but all these Eiffel towers and the leaks occuring just before Paris event seem too much for a coincidence to me...
I guess I want to beleive they will announce it soon and I can go play with it this week end at Ginza Sony showroom!

Razec, only JPEG
At least that's what I can tell from the leaked dump.
@Shotokan
I maintain that there won't be an announcement before end August.

Allright, but think a about the poor journalists lining up in Paris this week, and Sony tells them: Surprise! No new device today!
Then maybe a Togari with beefed-up camera and/or sound features?

If that's the case our only hope of getting true Sony RX quality is for the engineers to perfect the JPEG engine as it will make or break the camera performance of Honami, fingers crossed we could see the rebirth of Sony Mobile's imaging supremacy that has long gone since K850.
and BTW, HHT (hand held twilight) finally comes to mobile!

if JPEG engine is done right, then HHT will ensure Honami's domination in lowlight photography

oh yea.. totally forgot about raw shooting. shame that it doesn't look like it will be supported but its not the end of the world for me. a high quality jpeg photo makes me more than happy for a pocketable camera that i will ALWAYS have with me.
my dSLR can handle the rest

Don't be so quick to call winners and losers based on pure speculation and fanboy fantasies. You can search back and see the same shit over and over again for the Xperia Arc, S, Z, and now Honami. And OMG the X10. Fanboys screaming how revolutionary said phone was going to be and living outside of reality. Now its a ball pen where everyone is swimming in marketing terms and gimmicks. Even with all Sony's FANTASTIC releases (snark), their phone presence still barely manages to make a blip in the smartphone space. Apple, Samsung, LG, and HTC still handily beat it in sales and consumer mindshare.
Getting excited about Snapdragon 800 is like getting excited about Generic X flagship phone for 2H 2013. In fact, the Galaxy S4 in Korea already has it, with LTE-Advance to boot. You know, an actual available phone. All other flagships will have it. There's no release date for Honami, so it could very well be one of the last ones to even get the new qualcomm chip. Being first to market also means absolutely squat if everything else is executed terribly. The LG G2x was the first dual-core phone. It was also hit with a class action lawsuit for sucking in general. First 13MP camera? Super sucky. (Almost) first 1080p 5" display? Super duper sucktastic. I think you guys know which one that is.
If the renders and spyshots are correct, and the system dump says its a 20MP sensor, it's very questionable how large the sensor will actually be since it is shifted to the top left extreme and barely has any space. A very iPhone design in fact. Who knows if it will even be 1/1.6". Optical image stabilization also takes space. The good ones need even more space. And even with fancy new imaging algorithms, will you have to use burst mode to even get a decent shot? You normally don't have to ask this question when it comes to other companies. NO one else has this problem. But Sony is special. Consistency is not their forte when it comes to smartphones. The screens however, are consistently bad. Even the ZUltra is hideous.
Is Sony trying to do too much at once? New design, new UI, new specs, new camera, new software integration, water/dust proof. I don't want it to be a total mess when it comes out, with manufacturing issues and bugs galore that are still not rectified even after six months. Sony's track record in the smartphone space, to reiterate, has been very poor. The Nokia EOS at least has no surprises, and they are tweaking what has basically already been released a year ago. The 41MP is proven already and its just a matter of porting the software from Symbian and optimizing. The rest of the phone is a boring ass Lumia 920 from yesteryear. They've had plenty of time and aren't working from scratch. Even with Windows Phone, it might be a more compelling package than whatever Sony is trying to stew up in their cauldron. Of course, I say the complete opposite to Nokia fanboys at MyNokiaBlog. It it weren't for the pointless strife, fanboy groups could find a common thread of companionship in how universally obnoxious they are.
For me, it comes down to the pictures and the screen. I don't really care much about the body anymore. 20MP and yada yada yada. I've seen it all before. If the camera ain't much better than what the Note 3 can produce, and Sony sticks with the same terrible screen trend of theirs, the Note 3 will be my next phone and not Xperia anything. In fact, the camera has to be significantly better, as I far prefer the newest AMOLED screens, which are even more color accurate than all the other IPS screens available on a phone. And Sony is still stuck with that ugly, hazy launcher with thin text and faux elegance.

the troll strikes again!
stating facts that are untrue of course. the refreshed Galaxy S4 in korea is not available. it was just announced and won't be available til late summer.
seriously.. why do you bother coming here? do you really get off on bashing Sony while making up "facts" to buttress your arguments? laughable!
As sony fans we speculate and fantasize when rumors come out. but that is true of any brand's fanboys.

Ignore the troll Moogoo
Anyway, there are lots of camera features for Honami
No wonder, there are some speculations that the Camera app will be named as Cypershot

)
So Honami will have X Reality Chip (for Screen) like Z Ultra, Bionz Chip for Camera and the MX Chip for 5.1 audio ??
this will be the best Sony device that I've waiting for

IF THIS IS NOT A FANBOYISH STATEMENT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS

STILL I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE XPERIA Z SCREEN IS SO TERRIBLE... SURELY THE HTC ONE IT'S BETTER HANDS DOWN, BUT THE S4 IMHO NOT... I CAN'T STAND AMOLED COLOURS

LOL... GO WATCH SOME VIDEO AND TAKE OFF YOUR TROLL'S GLASSES... YOU WILL SEE HOW GOOD THE Z ULTRA DISPLAY IS

NOKIA'S PHONE ARE GORGEOUS EXCEPT FOR WM8 I DON'T LIKE IT

UBER DUPER LOL. And Sony is still stuck with that ugly, hazy launcher with thin text and faux elegance.
AND HERE A ROFL... GO WITH YOUR TOUCHWIZ WHICH SURELY IS FASTER AND LIGHTER
We were missing your lovely post...
Obviously I'm a fanboy... i really like Sony and I see their devices with Fanboy Glassess ON... but still if a Lumia would come out with android i would buy it instantly! and I love the HTC designs

I just happen to hate samsung's mobiles..
