yeah I buy lots from them... but it doesn't mean they have any more clue about the P990 availability (or pricing on release) than anyone else though

Don't pay too much attention to their release date though. All last month it said 1st May.

I was commenting on price, not release date. Just that you look at expansys, then play and theres like £165 difference!

Expansys specialise in putting high "guestimate" prices on items early before they necessarily know the true cost. They presumably leave enough margin to cover themselves when they know the true price.
When devices are released they normally capitalise on the inevitable limited availability by charging a premium for those deserate to get the device early. No doubt I'd do exactly the same in their position.
In all honesty I suspect Play.com's price is nearer to the actual mark - its what the P910 cost at launch so would seem to be about right.

I think the P990i release will be unique, as its 3G compatibility will mean it will be offered by a wider range of companies, this may mean buying in the first 2 weeks of high street release may not be a good idea, Expansys for example are notoriously expensive for new PDA/phones, also SE will surely be shipping these in very high numbers, they know they will sell fast & my guess is more like £450 sim free price, this version wont be a "niche market phone" as more people than ever before want to own a phone/camera/PDA/MP3 player. heck, i might even get one myself.
