Not even PC's have hardware support for 10bit, only software, at least the s800 is powerful enough to handle it through software right? Although that easily drains the battery. Still it's perfect for that triluminous screen
I wish hardware manufacturers supported 10bit. I guess they're too busy making hardware for 4k. But then again 10bit isn't that much mainstream compared to the regular 8bit

unfortunely S800 is a tad weak for 10bit even, all the video I tested plays ok but sound constant getting cut off and then go out of sync.

Need a dedicated 10-bit Audio chip I would imagine.
Something from Sony's own High-resolution Audio line maybe?

"reports that Sony will use ODM Compal Communications to launch at least one to two models "
Wonder if this will mean no IP58 certification, large sensor camera and higher end build quality. Vaio brand does make sense but not sure where will be positioned, high or mid end.

They will probably just take one of the xperias and make a WP-phone out of it. The next WP update will bring on-sceen buttons so phone makers can reuse their designs

Here's a video wich shows the LIFELOG APP at works on a Z1S and the LED on the Smartband
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa2Kx5HCzdA
it seems good

, maybe a bit samsungish but with Sony Style
Here's a video comparison with the LG Lifeband and his companion app
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNNeHjB84TI
It seems waaaaaaaay more uncomfortable, big and hard, not soft... surely it has a screen, but on that side Sony already has the Smartwatch2... the sony seems way better and practical for its usage!

@Gitaroo
oh, I guess it's not yet enough then, I remember someone posted they were able to play 10 bit mkv just fine on an s800, but maybe it's a 720p one not 1080p.

10 bit refers to the color depth of the video. Audio is not related to it. Most likely there isn't enough processing power left to keep the audio in sync, 10 bit video is very heavy to decode in software.
and.. apologies for the offtopic mods.

Hey! Lets start the rumors
What could be the specs of D6503 and D5303 (SoC, Camera, Features etc?
And I also have a little question for insiders...
Will Sony release a D5502 phone ? I mean the Z1-C without LTE (?)

there are many encoding parameters/mode for 10-bit. player could support one thing in 10-bit, but not others. same goes for 8-bit, but most of the 8-bit issues were resolved in the past few years of development

I tested another player archos or something, play perfectly for the first minute when it looks like the s800 gets too hot and started downclocking and thing gets really chopping. Sign.... maybe mediatek octo core can handle it, supposedly its performance is much more consistence. I believe theres already hardware decoding for 10bit mkv with LAV on pc.
