So many new and useful features... Am I the only one sad because of this?

Spare a thought for the Samsung guys who are now going to work who knows how many extra hours to copy and cram all these features in in time for the note 3 announcement... Or at the very latest the note 3 active announcement...

Any updates on the screen lottery?

Well this is interesting. Zomg has stated there is an L variant of Honami and he's apparently seen pics of it:

I really think that this is something Sony have understood better than other companies, the RX100 pretty much destroys the rest of the advanced compact field and forced everyone else to drastically cut their prices, worse still for them, I have been told that the 20MP 1" type sensor is not for sale at any price, not even to Nikon, their long time sensor partner. Even worse is that Sony just released the RX100mk2 for a higher price and it is selling out of it's first production run on pre-orders alone and now they are decimating the G1X and Coolpix A because of the smaller package.

I think Sony want to achieve the same results in the smartphone sector now, I don't believe the 2/3" sensor that will go into the i1 will be for sale at any price to competitors, so anyone looking for a half decent camera experience on Android will have to buy an Xperia.

Personally I'm looking forward to the L version of this phone, I've seen a couple of pictures of it and it has ZL style bezels while nixing the waterproofing I think (again like the ZL). I'll probably wait for the i3 which will come next year though, it will be smaller and have a better battery, plus I just got the ZL which is pretty nice awesome after 4.2.2 as it fixes a bunch of issues, especially with the camera. I hope Sony port the new image processing engine and camera app to the Z/ZL though as it gets great results on the leaked/ported ROM running on the Z.

Wonder how this will all work out. Will both be launched at the same time?

^ great info vivftp its time for SS to experience the same thing they did with their "mighty" Exynos

So there will be 2 version of Honami like the ZL and Z?? I guess one is waterproof and the other does not

Also, I wonder what type of battery are they going to use? is it going to be the normal Li-on or the new Li-po battery?

^According to zomg, its a "L" version of Honami like Z and ZL.....
I guess the price differences will stop these 2 devices competing with each others......

Please make the Honami L waterproof! Make the back metal instead of glass to differentiate it with Honami. This will be the solution to my dislike of long and wide phones! Please Sony, make the L version of waterproof!

a different back isn't enough of a reason to have a lower price and release it with honami without cannibalizing sales. it needs to have enough of a feature difference, which the waterproofing is. anything less just isn't enough.

very interesting though. for me, it's all about the waterproofin though..

The "L" may just be the mystery device.
