I've not had one restart with my P990i. it has crashed twice when messing about going from FO to FC during an operation...

@sonyclie77,

You're going in the totally opposite direction as I did, I just flogged my m600 for a P990. The grass is always greener on the other side

LOL! Maybe the grass is indeed greener on the other side.

I'm still considering the idea. But anyway if I can get a good price, I won't hesitate in selling the P990i and consider the M600i. If the P990i's become stable in the future, might re-consider buying it again. But that's a big BUT.

i feel sorry for you guys that have lots of crashes...mine is pretty much stable since the latest firmware, and what we need now is that the memory management is improved, so that we can run opera and 3 or other apps at the same time, and not just one or 2

i only had a reboot when testing swiss manager at the same time with opera, mig33 and media player - this made the phone unstable, but that was an extreme situation - only future firmwares will make this possible without problems

but then again i was able to run opera mini + mig33(msn) + media player and swiss manager without making P990 unstable...

the problem is running opera and other "big" apps like pdf+, quickoffice, etc at the same time of other apps

nevertheless, with some discipline (using the task manager/swiss manager when needed), i can do all i need in my business and leisure activitys, and the phone doesn´t reboot a single time

The thing I like best about my p990 so far is probably the least significant - the little "doodle" option in the SMS application that lets you send a picture as part of a standard text.

It's something I've never seen before and it adds that personal touch to messages.

@spawn, will the w950i also be having the same genetic defect of lack of ram as the p990i & the m600i???
sorry for goin' off topic people but i'm really looking forward to the w950i & hoping it's bug free.
all inputs are appreciated.

Hard to say but it will run on the same o/s. But as for the same problems that the m600i and p990i are having??...hmmm hard to say...although its highly unlikely that it will be bug free as you put it. Even if it does ship with a few bugs, SE will sort them out via firmware updates.

just upgraded from the m600 3 days back and settling in to the P990. i know the firmware issues will get ironed out in time but just a couple of points about the phone's keys and size:

1. Handset seems just too bulky. the whole device seems out of date cause of the size, specially after having used the m600. I know the feature set is greater but the thickness is just too much to justify.

2. The middle 'selection' key has to be the most difficult key to press in the world. You can't use your thumb cause the up or down keys get selected and so u have to use your nails on the thin and slippery plastic, it gets quite uncomfortable.

3. The QWERTY keyboard keys seems very plasticy to the touch and again they start to get uncomfortable after a bit of use.

Cant say the handset is bulky, of course its bulkier than the p990i...anyone with half a brain cell can see that

I have absolutely no problems with the middle menu button and i dont have to use my fingernail to press it and i have quite big hands and fingers...im 6'5 in height .

The QWERTY keyboard does feel plasticky but i cant fault it, one of the best features of the p990i in my honest opinion...makes my life a whole lot easier .

I second that...my friend just can´t believe i´m typing from a phone when using msn from P990, because i´m so fast

I also have no major problems with the middle button, althogh i agree it could be more easy to press for some people

Just got my P990i yesterday.
What I can say about P990i is wow, great!
But after a year with smaller device like W800 or K600, although weeks ago I also used M600, yes, I feel P990i a little bit bulky caused of the flip.
Features wise, this is a great phone. I have tried some features such as basic (phone and messaging), internet using Opera, TV streaming and video call using 3G (thanks to just launched 3G network here in Indonesia), and camera.
I just have to be acustomed to the 3-way jog-dial and 5-way navigation control since it's different from my previous P900.
Overall, I really satisfied with this very long coveted smartphone from SE.

@spawn, let me put it this way...the w950i has a 4gb hard disk as we all know...would it still suffer from lack of ram???
