I am having problems with my w950i on 3(UK).
I debranded to the generic worldwide firmware. But now I am getting the Invalid SIM message when I power on.
I have not been able to reflash it with the old firmware. I have replaced the two files in the blob_fs with the original ones, but I keep ending up with the new firmware.
Any ideas?
Phil

Is it possible to change the CDA to something else?
I have the 2007/8 Singapore CDA with English & Simplified Chinese.
I'm looking for one that will have English & Traditional Chinese.
Thanks
Can you upload your CDA files? I need Singapore CDA with English & Simplified Chinese.

Hey can someone help me with this?
I kinda already tried with KK and possibly bricked my phone... so trying this wont put me any worse off...
I have a w950i (was on orange uk) and changed through the kk method...
Half way though the SEupdate my comp froze and bricked the phone.
SEupdater can still read the phone as it still says i have the latest version installed ( generic world 1).
Heres the problem.
Im trying to change the files as described, but i have too many files!
heres a screenshot of the files i have in the blob_fs folder:
1, any ideas which the the 6 317kb files i can swap? ( i tried to uninstall and reinstall but they still reappear even before i plug in the phone).
2, Will this method force an update even if its the same CDA version?
3, as SEUpdater can still read my phone do you think i should wait for the next SE update ( which many never come) or try this?

unclebob, it's not 3++ kb file, it just 3++ bytes file which is under 1kb. You'll find several of them, just right click and properties, then you'll know the exact size of those files.

Does anyone have the files necessary for debranding the W950i as whenever i get redirected to rapidshare, the bandwidth has been exceeded so i can't download them.

Soz... thanks for the reminder looking at bytes not kb..
I got the following 4 files that state 1kb:
1st is 49bytes ( 4.00KB on disk)
2nd is 525bytes ( 4.00KB on disk)
3rd is 670bytes ( 4.00KB on disk)
4th is 988bytes ( 4.00KB on disk)
All have INFILE_LONGTERM in the name- just the numbers are different.
Which files do i replace? none are 300 and 400bytes :s

Those 3++ & 4++ bytes were intended for p990i, yours maybe lil bit different from what I remember in the earlier posts.

I really want to do this to my branded w950i but don't want to risk it with the warranty as this is my third SE and the previous two have had something go wrong. K800i the speaker just stopped working, so i expect something similar to happen to this one seeing as its a lot more buggy!

Tried every combo i think is possible and still not able to update the w950i.
I thought maybe coz i already have wg1 it mite think its already up-to-date so i strated with the HK ones that were listed here, still got nothing. Some combos say application error, some say the phone cant be identified and a few say phone is already up-to-date...
Any ideas?
