Can this app rip copyrited dvds? This is what i do,open m3,click add dvd title, another box opens up,click add title, then i add the title, click finish, click convert, then at the bottom green bars start to go from left to right. When it`s finished another box appears which is empty. That`s it.

geir-ove:

Just to clarify, you selected the subtitles when you added the DVD? I mean they're part of the DVD?

In that case, "copy lastrun.log to desktop" (on advanced tab), and email that file to m3bugs at gmail.com.

If you're trying to add subtitles from your hard drive to a DVD title (on the Video tab in the main M3 window), that's not going to work in M3. It could though, quite easily, i just never accounted for anyone trying it!

amanno1:

Yes it works on copyrighted DVDs.

It sounds like some stage of the DVD conversion failed. Go to the Advanced tab, click "copy lastrun.log to desktop" then email that file to m3bugs at gmail.com. I'll take a look and let you know the problem/fix.

thank you.

Johnnex, you mean add a streaming server to M3?!

That'd be... a task! lol.

Seriously they're quite involved (you don't see many written) and i don't see that as a feasible feature to add.

You could however download the darwin streaming server by Apple, and tell it to use the M3 output directory as it's server root. Then all your M3 encoded videos will be reachable via RTSP over your network.

However from my personal testing, the R3B01 P990 firmware refuses to decode AAC audio in streamed files, and will only play audio in streamed MP4's that use the low quality AMR codec.

amanno i'm not being funny with you, but could you keep technical problems and bug reports to the m3bugs at gmail.com contact address?

This isn't some monolithic tech support thread. Questions about how to use different features are fine, but individual problems are better sent to the support email address. That's what it's there for.

It's also a LOT easier for me to track and resolve issues via my email inbox than jump around a thread full of posts.

thank you!

He's certainly trying to by the look. He's done this for no gain (other than donations) and has given us this great software along with his time to answer questions so give him a bit of time and I'm sure you'll get there in the end.

I'll help amanno, but you do have to reply to emails.

I do seem to spend a lot more time doing the tech support thing since i announced M3 here, i wasn't expecting such a big response to it!

I'm certainly not getting rich from donations (though huge thanks to those who have donated so far), but if i wanted to get rich i'd have sold M3 for a price like some people suggested. But i don't need to do that so i'm happier making it free to use.
