i need your help please. i just updated my p990i and if i reply the font seems to be in large. no matter how many times i change it it still goes back to large. i want the font to be in medium since thats the default font is supposed to be. i did a hard reset twice and its still large. if anyone can help me i would surely appreciate it... i hope to have a reply soon. thanks in advance.

that's because your firmware is cda../8. No upgrade yet for that series. Check out this thread from time to time http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=138434&start=600

then how do you get your phone book back. will a synchronise get it back?

when I start my P990 i get about 16-17MB. this falls slowly so that at the end of the day i end up with 10-11Mb and the only functions I am using are SMS and Phone. I wonder what would happen if I used all the functions the P990 was designed to do. For Phone and SMS any old phone could have done the job.

You will end up precisly with 12-13mb if you use swiss manager pro, no matter what you do during the day...i use almost all the phone functions everyday. Of course, you have to quit unused apps from the memory

3 days of very intense usage, 13.2 mb free RAM and no even sign of strange behaviour or restart for better performance. Before I would already restarted it myself a day or sometimes even two days ago because of low RAM (lol). I am very pleased (the new fw + new version of smp/level 3 of memory reclaimed).

Ares, you said that you were using level 3 memory reclaim with SM, however, that is not an option for everyone. I have the SIM lock activated so that if the SIM card is changed I need to enter the phone PIN, just a security measure against loosing the the phone. In this case, you can only use level 2 in SM. After about 2 days I'm left with around 9.5 MB RAM. More or less the memory settles around 6-7 MB over a longer time, memory reclaim didn't help either. However, the applications were running smoothly.

You've got it mixed up... The thing you shouldn't use with level 3 activated is Inactivity lock, the thing that locks your phone when you leave it idle. I just tried changing SIM in my phone after doing level 3 reclaim a couple of times during the day. The 'bad' thing level 3 does is to stop 'SecurityApp', and I think that's only used for the inactivity lock (someone said so in another thread). You have to shut off the phone to change SIM, so if it has something to do with the SIM change phone lock, it gets started again anyway...

Good point, so many threads I must have missed that. I will switch to level 3 and see what happens. SM does not auto-start so there shouldn't be a problem. Thanks.

Yes its true...using level 3 is not for everyone. Even so, its much better than before. By the way, yesterday i managed to open 3 java apps at same time, and with media player and sm pro also on background... the phone was left with almost no RAM, acording to SM Pro, and even so the phone didnīt crash, and the apps werenīt terminated by the system...then i close them all and was left with 12,1mb. I was suprised with this because java apps eat RAM like mad
