may you please post pics of your phone now without the lens cover? and is the mechanical shutter strong enough or is it soft or something?

Here you go guys,
The ACTUAL shutter is made from a durable plastic, very strong, and as it is not flush with the rear of the phone, it is protected - after all; if one looks at a Digital camera, 99.9% of the time, it is just like my K850i!
Enjoy

Wow how did you manage to take it off?:D Was it difficult, and can you put it back in place whenever you want?
A small guide would have been nive:)

Haha Guys,
Its really easy, and sblant, it doesnt do much at all - all it does is collect finger prints!
Just remove the two screws at the base of the handset (In the battery cover), remove the cover, and then using a credit card just slowly work the back off, it will unclip, but please - be careful - you can damage the side lining easily if you try to be too hasty!
Once its off, it will expose the camera module - you can remove the lens cover here!
I have had mine done for well over three months, and have had NO issues, and im not wiping it all the time!

this is not a good solution, absolutly.
the lens cover is not really trasparent and makes some UV protection in the final photo.

Ah sblant my dear boy, I'll have you know I happen to know 'just a little' about Digital Cameras - and would like to have you informed, that the lens cover is not a 'UV protected' piece.
It is a piece of GLASS - and, in fact - PhotoGraphs have been clearer and better contrasted since the removal!

No, unfortunately, you will have to by the right tool, or you risk mashing the screw head!
Good Luck!
