I wish UIQ 3 had multi point touch screen support.
Than it would be the greatest one =)

We can definately say this discussion will never end. I don't think you can judge with any fundamental objectivity superiority of any system.
I'm very interested although how things will change next year. That's interesting, since we expect next Pseries and more TS/new UiQ devices with probably new UI from SonyEricsson, and also news from Nokia plus planned TouchScreen debut of this maker.

More may not be better. Having 2 input type together is good as long as the use of the UI is coherent for both type (i.e. in both mode the UI is seamless). And P990 UI is obviously not (i.e. it is like having 2 separate UI working together, one in flip close, the other flip open).

We just have to see how Nokia incorporate TS and yet make both key/TS use seamless (as Nokia claimed it will be)

I absolutely agree with Mode, that Flip MUST come back thats why P990 is still my favourite UIQ3 phone it had the Navi pad and normal keypad and then also had a QWERTY board, Jogdial, and Touchscreen very good mixture i must say, too bad about the bugs.
I love the look of the UI on my s60 especialy with the theme im using. I don't realy have to do a lot of scrolling, the apps i use most are on the stand by screen, ive also set the two soft keys as shortcuts to apps that i use a lot and the Multimedia key and they work great for me. but i do like to go through the menu to get to my apps because it looks so dam good on this high resolution screen and moves fast between icons.

Hi all

As mentioned by myself and others there will never be a situation where everyone will agree, the simple fact is there really is no best OS or best UI there is only what suits each of us best.

As we are all individuals well at least i hope we are what suits some doesn't suit all who cares what OS anyone else users as long as you are happy with the OS and UI you are using and it does what you want and need that's all that matters.

Other peoples subjective opinions or telling you your OS is rubbish means absolutely nothing if you are happy with what you use. This discussion is becoming as bizarre as they can get a little understanding of others choices would go a long way to mutual understanding.

The simple proof for the above is this if one OS and UI really was so much better than anything else we would all be using it so due to the fact that are so many different options in use we have to assume there really isn't just one definitive answer and i for one doubt there ever will be either.

@E19

That's a bit harsh as we have been led to believe that the reason the announcement was pulled was due to the fact the device was being upgraded especially re the processor, no one has or can say exactly which processor it will use yet.

OK so UIQ3 got off to a poor start but hopefully SE has learned from that we have to at least hope so neither you or any else can be sure if we get UIQ4 or just how good it is until it arrives for now at least we need to give SE the chance to show us what they can do and only after the device is announced and released can we judge them.

Well said mate It's nice that you now post like a neutral person who uses mobile phones of many brands unlike the one we used to see

i'm just opting to see a cybershot phone with UIQ hardscreen platform alongside with the new features and better performance for the next year and i'm fine with UIQ and for sure UIQ will improve more on their software side since it's now UIQ Moto and SE that's working on the platform and motorola platforms usually has a very stable platform performance however i can't find any reports/reviews from users regarding Moto's UIQ in Z8

anyway i dont know if anybody said this but imho UIQ is not an operating system but a platform - UIQ alongside with S60 is a platform under the Symbian OS
