This phone is about a year late to the party, everyone holding onto the k800i was looking for a reason to buy a better SE phone but the k850i was a joke, the c902 had no Xenon and the c905 was a slider, finally the c901 comes out, this will be my backup phone. Will get it for my wifey.

I doubt sonyericsson will use samsung crappy mid-end cams again. Im pretty sure c901 use some kind of sony sensor.
Gho5t ,k770 need heavily editing by photoshop just to get the colours good. So much for k770

k770 colours are worse than other cyber-shot cameraphones, it's obvious, i had k770, k800 and k810. Besides, k770 noise is really disgusting. In low light conditions, colours are ugly, and the noise is terrible.
Hope c901 will be different story..

The C901 will at least be available in the Nordic countries.

Many of samsungs cellphone cameras is really crap, 8510 is the only cam whos great (and thats a expensive 8 m.p) so i easily prefer sonys sensors all the way, in range 2-5 m.p, c902,w902,k810,k750 have great colours and well detailed images.
Besides, K770 is good but far from great
I disagree, latest example: C901 and C903. Sony sensors have one major issue: a lot of low frequency chromatic noise. this is acceptable in low light but not in good light conditions. Samsung can hold this issue at much lower magnitude and higher frequency which cannot devastate details. that's why pictures in good light from i8510 looks better than C905, U800 and C901 better than K850, C902 and C903
100% crops from C905 and i8510, additional saturation
K770 wasn't great but if you compare low light pictures with K800 then K770 have no mercy for competitor. once again chromatic noise. you can remove K770 noise with not big loss in details, try this with K800

do you have any idea about this matter? I don't think so, Sony sensor is in C903 and you can see how Sony-great-quality is

Raiderski,
k800 colurs are better than k770's,
But sharpness is much more great in k770 of course.
k800 noise-reductor works hard even in good light conditions.
c901 photo (with this forum on it) is someway similar to k770....i dunno why:)

@Raederski, you have absolutley no fact which cam modules c903,c901 use. There is no way you can see that to just look at some pictures.
I have plenty of ideas in this matter by the way, besides i had k770 some year ago and it have worse colours, details and overall quality then both my k810, c902.

no facts? I'm in image analysis since K750 and it's not that hard for me to find out such things. diversification of solutions is nothing new, SE often use cameras by OmniVision, Samsung and Foxconn (for video calls). each manufacturer have own unique quality characteristic, Sony is very unique because of chromatic noise
C903 and C901 - Sony and not Sony
at first I believed in miracle (Sony improved technology and software) but then a simple question appeared: why not for C903 too? answer is more than simple
do you feel uncomfortable with Samsung camera on board? you can buy C903 instead of C901... if SE won't replace camera to Samsung in it
