I can't resist to mention (OT) the A2628s I had; with the 1400mah battery inside the phone could reach *two weeks* on standby. It was almost rediculous how long this beast went. Never seen anything like it.
yeh i have one of them i just broke the battery though - little wire snapped off the unit, haven't bothered to try and fix yet though....but yes, i left the battery in the phone for over 2-3years (switched off ofcourse

- and the battery was basically almost fully charged still.

I will TRY to see if my

T68i will really last for a week or so

. . . I won't be using any calls . . . just pure SMS (about 3 a day) . . . but I really doubt if the batt will LAST that long

4 days at the most I guess . . .

@JN,
I have heard that using (writing) SMS drains a battery even more than (not very long) calls. Maybe it's true, because when you are writing SMS, the screen of a mobile phone needs power for back-lighting. If you write long SMS, lots of SMS's or just think "too much" while writing, the active screen wastes the power of battery. But when you are calling, the back-light goes off after few seconds.
I have also experienced that after I have sent lots of SMS's, the battery doesn't last so long than usually. (By lots of I mean ca 10 SMS.)
I suggest you to try to achieve the maximum standby time of your phone (battery) in this way: use your phone mainly for calls (ca 15-30 minutes)and only for 1 or 2 sms, perhaps also some minutes for GPRS. Sure, you also must have a good GSM-coverage.
But of course, if you will receive lots of important calls, you can't make this experiment

@aivan - Yeah makes sense about the SMS dude . . . unfortunately, I don't call that much . .. as there's NO one to call to . . . maybe we can chat here some day pal

SMS is OK, as I do this most of the time when I want to know the items on sale (website) . . . and GPRS, YES, here at Esato . . .

Just a fresh note: yesterday my T68i switched off after 222 hours of standby time. It is 9 days and 6 hours. During that time I had calls for 25 minutes, gprs for 6 minutes and 1 sms.
But as I have said before, this is not its "personal best" - the record time is 278 hours [11 days and 14 hours]

@boba - Are you sure that the fone is turned-ON here

This is REALLY INCREDIBLE if done for the record ! My max is still at 4 days . . . a 5 minute call and only some SMS . . .
