although I often did WM devices, I don't have interest yet for android ROMs, or even rooting so I'll be interested in anything useful or interesting in this ROM

Yes we can...bought my wife a galaxy s2 today...she loves it...her first words were 'f**k me..look at that screen...' lol. iphone4's been dumped...
I have to say that I look at the iphone 4 screen, and then the S II screen and am in awe. As good as the iP4 screen is actually, size does matter!... but I find myself wishing moreso that the iphone 4 had a larger screen rather than wishing the S II had iOS, and as yet... as good as the S II is, and despite the smaller iP4 screen, I still find myself using the iphone 4 alot more.

The SAMOLED plus screens too have very bright strong saturated colours and amazing blacks. Other screens look pale compared.

Yep, agree with you Bono - played with the SGS II this morning and all I can say is "wow". Compared my Arc screen against it (and the Arc screen is great) but it does look pale compared to the vibrant Samsung screen.
Really impressed with the SGS II, it's very quick and the screen is a stunner. I even thought Touchwiz was better than I thought it may have been and the skinning was not OTT (which initially worried me).
As for build quality, don't see what the issue is, yes it's plastic, but no worse then the Arc. I'd rather have a light handset than a brick (btw I found the iphone 4 to be a touch heavy).
Do I regret not getting the SGS II - well not really, it was a lot more expensive, but give me an LED notification light and a proper camera shutter and I'd get the SGS II tomorrow.
I know people harp on about the iphone, but really, imho the only trump the iphone 4 has over this is it's build quality, aside from that, this beats the iphone hands down.
I just can't imagine what the next version will be like!

Yes the LED notification does help cos if I am out of the room and come back in I can look at the phone and know if I have a text email or missed call without opening the screen to check. The Samsung phones do have a feature whereby the phone can alert you more than once. As for the screen well even the older Galaxy S is stunning. I have learnt how to hold a camera steady now without camera key. The Arc camera was so fast using the touch screen was easier than the shutter key. As for build as long as the phone is well put together who cares about plastic. Samsung are renowned for their solid build anyway.

VillainROM stuff looks quite interesting, little tweaks to improve sound performance or making the messaging app stop converting long sms into mms... They look very useful so I'm keeping an eye on that for when I finally get one... I'm hoping that someone will have sorted Recovery by then too, can't face the hassle of mucking about without it...
