That's typical of what I expect from HTC build quality. I haven't owned a HTC phone in almost 10 years, apart from the one I still have from 2004, but they always were poorly built.
By far the most ironical and slanderous statement I've read in these forums in weeks. Anyone who calls HTC's build quality poor is crazy. And that too, a person with an s3? Let's see who stands up to defend you on this one...

Literally, take a look in the mirror and reassess your own importance in this forum.

Steve Kondik seems very happy with it:
CyanogenMod founder gets an HTC One, thumbs it up as dev friendly with great design

Seen one in an O2 store today with Beats headphones plugged in and they sounded great. I unplugged them and listened to the speakers. They also sounded very good. HTC on SOME early models their build could have been better. But not these days they are rock solid and that is speaking from someone who has had a few of their newer models. Even their cheaper ones are decent build. @etabb you have not had a HTC for a long time so cannot speak of the newer models. I have had the HTC One V,HTC Radar,HTC Mozart,HTC Desire,HTC some 3D model I forget the name which all had rock solid build, aswell as many others. You say you had a HTC a long time ago so if a new model to market has dodgy build it is probably just a bad early batch. Don't forget Samsung had the GS3 on some models with cracks

Oh I don't know, I rate any company lower who put their antennas in the battery cover and connect them with gold contacts.

HTC have had a mix of good and really bad things in their models, but they have overall been robust.I remember when I was around 16-17, I had a Nokia N80 and my dad had the almighty HTC TyTN, what a machine that thing was, but it had a tendency to heat up to a point where it was uncomfortable to use.
In Android we had the Desire HD with the two covers for battery and sim+mem card being easily ruined, then the Sensation with antennagate, and if I'm not mistaken One X had a similar issue, but I simply cant fault the materials used and their designs.
I've been wanting to try Htc since my X10, but Samsung got me in their clutches since the brilliant GS2, a phone I got due to the HTC Sensation XE not being available down here.
One thing that will keep me away from Htc for a while is how they ruined multitasking in SenseUI, they have made the Android task manager extremely aggressive more than any other OEM, ever since the One X, so Htc Androids don't keep that many tasks in RAM.

Whilst the One is a great handset I would not get one if I had the choice. I find the new Android skin a bit bland and colourless rather drab looking. I wish HTC would get rid of the black background to the app drawer aswell

Like in others you can see your wallpaper behind the app drawer

Yeah, it does look quite dark, very depressed colours used in the UI. Yep, HTC's app drawer has always looked awful,it and the stock Android UI drawer on Nexus phones are just so dull with those icons, Motorola, IMO, have the best looking app drawer,it uses your wallpaper and their icons are always very simple yet creative, they pay a lot of attention to detail.
