Got Oreo update today on my Note8, and so far not seeing much change, I guess because Samsung already had many of these features implemented before Google.
Must say though, the Iris Scanner is a he'll of a lot faster, sometimes the phone reads my Iris so quickly I do not even seen the lockscreen, it just opens up straight to what I was doinf before the phone locked.
The UI seems a tad faster, that Note8 was already a fast phone but I do seen a slight reduction in transition time, where I have allowed transitions.
I do like the whole Long Press on App Icon to see Notifications feature, it then gives a preview of the latest Notifications, very nicely done and convenient.
Now I want to see if there is any battery life improvement as I was happy with the battery life in Nougat.
What I do like is that there does not seem to be a dramatic change overall, which is good.
I must say I am overall so happy with my Note8, it's been such a solid and stable device despite the abuse I give it. Staying true to being a workhorse of a device and not missing a single beat.

I got it on mine too. I really like the adaptive icons and the new keyboard. The phone seems faster (smoother ) too but maybe not pixel 2 XL smooth . Overall happy note 8 finally got keep even though it came so late

Someone on a local forum made me aware of a nice little feature Samsung added in Oreo it seems. Hard pressing the Home button and swiping left or right with the hidden Nav bar will activate the relevant keys. E.g. Task Switcher left and Back Button right, so you never have to see those Nav keys unless you are typing on the keyboard. Nice touch

Is this not the same as hiding the bottom bar ? Maybe I am missing something ....

No, the Bottom Bar stays hidden, and you just swipe towards the direction of each respective button to get their respective actions without the buttons actually appearing .

Finally got my Samsung Standing Case from Samsung, looks pretty sweet, and it allows me to use Lockscreen Widgets without opening it.

It looks really nice Tsepz , enjoy .
Currently Note 8 is under a massive price cut (£200) here in UK , I wonder if it is because the sales have not been great . Still enjoying mine (but have exchanged the black to blue )
