DXO is a poor indicator unfortunately, there is so much bias. If you check out the GSM Arena blind camera polls you get very different result every time and its a shame that they never add a Sony device because it would win a few comparisons. The one resounding result is that nothing can match the Pixel 3 in low light, everything else in normal light is very comparable.
A mediocre camera can take excellent shots if handled well so its a matter of what people are comfortable with. Simple as that. I have printed so many holiday albums with my Xperia phones, some shots are truly stunning when I take that shot in perfect conditions.

DxO is a joke. Just look at the things which count in the photography deparment. They give minimum points for the lack of some marginal functions yet give nothing for some xtra features. Fu..k them.

Bro, I don't care for GSM Arena but with their photo comparison tool you can make a decision for yourself so as much as people love iPhone images YOU can decide if you like the over saturated or not. I trust my eyes more than anyone else. You need a level playing field and that's not the case. Granted Sony isn't the best but its no way that bad. Show me with real evidence that it's that bad and I'll accept, not like this biased nonsense.

I get your point. I have one problem:
I watch a lot of real life reviews on YouTube. They usually refrain with my own experience with devices.
When half of the reviewers were bashing the phone I was enjoying, and the other half was close to real life experience, I thought something is not right. Definitely.
Now just look how good Xperias were scoring on DxO in the past, when the phones were WIDELY criticized for their camera performance. I remember that. Now all the reviewers priase the Xperia camera improvements, and DxO says it's sh..t. I mean, for me it's basically less and less reliable.
GsmArena also changed their camera reviews and made it closer to reality. I remember the moment they understood the importance of manual settings in Xperia cameras when Auto was underperforming. And suddenly the results were better...
I also think the camera reviews by those phone reviewers are more and more meaningless. They hace no tools for that operation.
Also - you really believe those websites and channels are 100% objective? I don't. It's a market game, especially with big websites and channels.

everyone here are much more professional than the guys on Dxo.
Their problem is not with their professionalism but with their integrity which nowadays is null and void.
It's not just Sony, other brands suffer too while others get undeserved credit. One could argue that today DXO mark's ranking reflects payments rather than mobile camera quality.

Enjoying my xa2 ultra.
Question.
I'm about to get a new car, it has qi wireless charging, and the Xperia 1 doesnt but the xz3 does .
For the price I can get the xz3 and longevity (2years I intend to use) what does everyone think?
the wireless isn't a deal breaker cause my car will have it but if my car has it why not use it at times right lol...
Or wait till September and see what the next phone is after x1 and get the newer phone or maybe even get x1.
Ah choices.
I miss the head phone jack
But I'll be getting a dedicated MP3 player and chucking in a 1tb microSD (finally releasing this year) card to have in the car.
