I've only just recently started using sman, its totally replaced Switcher for me. I've noticed my battery life extended now using the flipclose-flush feature. All in all, i see better battery life using it.

My only input to improve wud be better better looking icons, they look very Windows 3.1!

@nay:

Nope, I have not experienced a battery drain when running SMan and I always have SMan running on my P800. I would suggest you do not use the "Forced endtask" option as that is only for apps that do not want to terminate themselves gracefuly. I know of only GPRS Log program in the P800 that does this. This could also explain why you have a battery drain as apps do not quit properly.

@zahg:

What's wrong with the icons I had drawn?

@all:

Watch out for SMan v1.2, am using a beta now and it's really cool. Visit my site to see some screenshots.

Ohh... NOk*a sux...

sorry ajax, the icons are ok, but to me (who is slightly anal about look and feel) they look kinda dated.
To compare, the icons in the top and bottom tray of the P800 look alot more modern and polished, or compare to the look of OggPlay?
That aside, i understand you guys are working on improving the app itself which is fine. Cosmetic touches are not the highest priority for me, the app functionality is.

PS The [as]s-man logo kicks shiny metal ass!

Every day I come here to check if Sman 1.2 is out... When bluejacking in public I catch myself thinking "if only it would vibrate to tell me when it's found a victim!" and then I think "Ah, 1.2 will!"

Come on Droll, release it already, or let me betatest it!!

but that aside, I thought of an advanced-ish feature that could be fun for "full-auto" bluejacking: The ability to "queue" a number of messages to be sent, in order, to each found victim:

"Hey, turn around!"
"Didn't see me, did you?"
"Yes, I'm right here, stupid!"
"Ha ha, nope, keep looking!"

If you could have these sent automatically from your pocket you could do it when the victim is sitting right next to you (which given the p800's limitet BT range is not unusual).

Also, a delay setting for the individual bluejack would be cool, to give you time to casually fire it off and casually put the phone back in your pocket before your nearby victim gets jacked

But even without these, Sman is still a great program! I've now given it to a friend who works at Nokia, their offices are about to go BEEP! BEEP!

I've been using Sman 1.1a and I notice that when activated it causes the phone to crash if you are running Oggplayer and you close the flip. It worked fine up until yesterday, and now it just crashes.

@Lordmike

Have you tried sending a file from the 606 to the P800 via BT? Doesn't seem to work at all even though the phones can see each other. The 606 seems to disconnect all the time. Really wierd and I suspect it is the 606s problem as I can BT the P800 with everything else I have tried.

Hi people,

I have this problem while trying out the Sman.
I actually found 4 device at my area using BT.
So i did a search to BlueJack them.
While seeing the log, it keeps saying OBEX fail/Error
I guess i din get to BJ them. After awhile or so, it says Stacker Cool Off. Guess my phone gave up. Din know why
Was very disappointed.

Anyone here actually knows what is happening?

Thanks

Regards

two things about SMan 1.1:

1. When using BT, the search usually ends abruptly. I would like to set it to keep searching for Blue Jacking victims for 10 minute or so...

2. When closing tasks via Switcher, I get much more memory back... Also, their compress memory option closes unused programs (whereas the Sman one only organizes memory).

Also, if you use the force end task option, not all the application's memory is retrieved. I think that when the force endtask checkbox is turned on, the program should first try to end tasks normally, and if a timeout occurs and they didn't close yet, then use the force end task method.
