I can believe that a batch of chargers could be faulty, we had a bad bunch of power supplies for our cable modems a few months back and hundreds just packed up over a few weeks.

by the way my charger is made in Morocco by Si (i think it says Si)

yeah perhaps UK SE users are the only affected.
here in asia, chargers are made in Malaysia, i have this old ericsson t28 charger (about 3 years already) that is still working fine, now i have t310 and t68 and t100, i use the same charger for the three.

I think that the chargers affected are only new chargers,
I would be guessing at 3-6 months old.
Looks like a bad batch has gone out and been picked up by Q&A.
The old chargers that people have been using on their T68's etc. are
fine.
Seems to have been some confusion earlier on in this thread, people thinking that their 3 year old chargers were faulty.

I would suggest that if you have purchased a phone over the past few months please get the charger checked by the shop.

regards,

Kerwin.

p.s saying that just found this,

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&threadm=4hrdvuoirc4knc177tcg0v9i24nqgbkved%404ax.com&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dsony%2Bericsson%2Bcharger%2Brecall%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26selm%3D4hrdvuoirc4knc177tcg0v9i24nqgbkved%25404ax.com%26rnum%3D1

If the above link doesnt work, do a google search on groups for
sony ericsson charger recall

pick the first link,

regards,

Kerwin.

well that apparently happened dec last year, and the guy had the phone for 8 months before that - by no means a recent batch. Just shows it can happen any time with electrical things. I have seen an iron and a TV short before (separate incidents btw!) but never tried touching them or the plugs afterwards - can't believe that guy did so and burnt himself.

kids, don't play with electricity or fire. especially you pyro BonC!!

My T610 charger is made in Thailand by Delta (03W25). I've had no problems with it so far (approx 2 months). And I have it plug in the wall 24/7. It's the euro-version though with only two pins.
