The background has to be twice the height of the foreground to allow for missiles flying into the air. The backgrounds were then scaled down 50% to save memory, although I might change my mind there. They do look a little blocky sometimes.

That explains it. But what is your limit in size, both actual and in dpi?

I'm just working on a new version which will allow you to use 512 * 512 pixel backdrops. That should be published later today.

@floss
I initially tried v1.0 and that worked fine, was really fun!
Just tried to upgrade (demo) to v1.11 today, it installed and removed v1.0. Can's seem to find the icon for starting the game anywhere, although I can see it listed in the Uninstall menu. It's gone missing!
Any ideas?
Great work, by the way

Weird! That certainly shouldn't happen. Have you tried uninstalling it from the menu and then reinstalling from the .sis?
Let me know how it goes!

It works, now!
Earlier on, I tried upgrading it by installing directly over the old version - ie, it uninstalled and then installed automatically. Tried to do this twice, and the final result was the icon was missing.
Followed your suggestion and manually uninstalled the game first, then re-installed v1.11, and now everything's fine!
Do you think it's my phone? Or maybe something to do with the way the game was automatically being uninstalled?

I've no idea why it didn't work. The installation is all outside my control and entirely automatic. Its just one of those things I guess.

The new version works great..
One bug: When ingame, and you click on options dialog the dark background is messy..
I have made two levels, they are ok, I would love to do tiles instead.. I will look into how to make tiles..
The foreground are from google/images search...
The background were easy to make
I will try to make own tiles later.. to avoid any copyright stuff
