wow ... i think infact SE has catched up with other brands... cos in the pass who would want to buy SE ... just a small segment of the market will like to buy SE. personally infact for myself i have never used an SE phone before. because i think they are not stylist enough, they are not advance enough, like wat other brands like nokia is doing. nokia comes out with more stylish phones and more advance phones faster than SE. thats why i never try SE phones at all before. but now SE has already catch up ... and i am going to buy my first ever SE phone K700i tomorrow ... hahaha. cos i liek the design, i like the features and everyday without failed i will check the website to see if there is any promotion going on for this phone. and true enough it is worth my wait and i am going to get it by tomorrow. i believe this would be a great phone. so i think SE has catched up alot with the others.

announced that they wuld be focussing on high end phones for the time being. Yes it's part of their business plan..... but their business plan in turn is based on their resources available at that time.
In due time
will expand it's range of phones.... but this was a long term plan

as second-rate, but behind who? I had grouped them along with Nokia and motorola, but the fact was fact i was none too impressed with ANY phones aside from Sony, which had obviously become defunct by this time, and the p800.

but it is taking a big gamble with S700. it is not a tested concept. because the size, weight and swivel mechanism, it will be an uphill task to make it appealing to the general public.
edit: all this plus the P900 series going thru a rough ride.

Other manufacturers also have introduced swivels in the past months. SE's offer in the 'smarthphones' category might be very good, it is not exclusive anymore. For every SE phone there is a competitor. Do they really outperform the competition in this part of the market? Because that would be the only good reason to focus on smart of high-end phones and leave a huge part of the market in the cold.

I associate everything you write about Sony Ericsson with sarcasm. To me it seems more like you wish Sony Ericsson's judgement day than luck because everything about Nokia is the only thing that matters to you.

my comment on S700 is valid. a swivel design is supposely a new trend, so it should be trendy. look at the moto v80. u can flip it with one hand like a swiss blade to open. that's what i called something new. try it with S700. i hv look at S700 from every angle using an unbias view, i still cannot find anything to suggest it has broad appeal. furthermore, SE does not have many models in this range at all to experiment with this concept.
same with my comment on P900 smartphone. sales at SE has been expanding. but for smartphone, it is declining. so what does that suggest? see table below.

Observation: MY X52 has the Nokia design. So, one Nokia fun might purchase it.

I thought I had made a rather objective argument, highlighting both the strengths and weaknesses of SE.
The P900 isn't new anymore, so I would suspect that its sales might drop.

i was just elaborating on my observation on some of the issues that are stumbling blocks to SE having the "edge". Secondly is to show I'm not bashing SE for sake of bashing.
in fact, if u like we can reverse the scenario and talk about issues and obstacle facing Nokia or how Nokia will fall flat. maybe this would be more palatable to audience in this forum as significant numbers, IMO, seem to want all the good about SE and none of the bad.
on your point on P900, if u look at Q1 figure (this is the period when P900 was new), u will also see the dismal figure. and P900 is a major revamp of P800. i doubt in the coming quarters the P910 can reverse this fortune. Seems to me SE smartphone segment is in big trouble. For those of u who just want good news only, u can dismiss this post with sarcasm.
