Opera works fine but it's hard to get it started.
Mine would never connect to an ongoing GPRS session so I always had to disconnect and start again. Try any page, it should then say connecting........-->connected in the box. When it is connected stop it and try again to load the page, this may take a couple of attempts but always worked for me.
Try loading google, it's quick and easy to load

O2 seem to be doing a lot of incorrect charging & subsequent refunding at the moment!
I bet your credit comes back

Yesterday free GPRS via Opera was working in my P900 even tho its a new o2 online sim with no credit but today it doesn't work

if i click on the connection icon and look at the details it says it is uploading and downloading and you see the KBs going up but it still stays on the same page.

I got this message today from O2, which probably explains all. I'm an Online Tarrif customer:
Dear O2 Customer,
We emailed you back in June to let you know that the O2 Active™
free trial (allowing you to access the internet from your mobile
for free at all times) was due to end on 30th June 2004.
Due to unexpected technical issues, this didn't happen and -
luckily for you - O2 Active™ has remained free.
Sadly, all good things do come to an end,
and the free trial ended on October 7th 2004.
However, you will continue to benefit from the
allowance of 150 - 200* pages which is included with your tariff**.
Additional access to O2 Active™ will be charged, but you can still
have the latest games, ringtones, news, sport and music at your
fingertips from just 1p per page.
Best wishes,
The O2 Online Team

Uh oh... Does that mean that o2 is getting with it? Will we suffer from paid gprs? Please god no.....
@ Fiona
I can send you an o2 Online SIM free if you like, just PM me. I'll be happy to, but I'll see what the postage is... It shouldn't be too bad. I also have another one if anyone needs one (please, only people who need it)
I was in Italy recently, (on the weekend) and free GPRS worked fine while roaming, if a bit slower.
@Dekesh
Opera has always worked for me just had to wait a little, and never use an existing conenction, always let Opera do the connecting. Also, make sure you have set the proxy settings in OPERA's options, NOT just the phone's

Edit: Funny... My account balance has gone up to 4.17 or something... VERY weird...
