that ppl here seem increasingly inlcined to diss all phones, based on testimony of others and never really seem to take the time to make up their own minds first.
Is a bit off topic though but it gets on my nerves. Phone is not quite so bad as he makes it sound.... it's a good product and so far less buggy than other SE's I've known

I tried out the video calling before I sent it back, and yeah the video quality was not that great. I video called my Z1010 and the quality was really blocky on the V800, but much better on the Z1010.
hold on i realised some... 'quality was really blocky on the V800'..... my analysis tells me that wat u said relates to Z1010 quality... The reason Z1010 has better quality is due to V800 1.3MP camera so its clearer on the Z1010.... and when u look at ur V800 while video calls it looks bad.. its bcoz of Z1010 low quality camera... so theres nothing really wrong wth V800 at all..... u guyz know wat im tryin to xplain here...??

Yes, but the V800 video and video-call quality isn't that good either. I tried video-calls with two Z1010 and after this with two V800, but the quality isn't so different at all.
From what I hear the Z1010 still is the best UMTS mobile to date. The V800 is good, but I think SE released it in a hurry and didn't get everything right. Only my opinion.

The V800 is starting to smell like a phone that SE rushed out in time for the launch of Vodaphones 3G service IMO.
........ says someone who's never seen it irl
Umm.. but i have. I got my hands on a V800 last week before Masseur even got his.. and maybe even before you got yours.
Although the phone itself was impressive (like all SE's) the specimen 1.3mp pictures look poor by comparison to the S700i's, aswel as other little niggles that people have mentioned.

So, how is the V800 standby-time? What about the handover/dialing from 3G to 2G. It has a really weak battery comparing to the Z1010. Nobody writes about the important things.

yeah, u r rite vlamm.
people keep on dissing and comparing

to other companys. just because sony ericsson have radical designers, doent make them shit!
just because nokia used to be the leading brand, doenst make them the best! people need to be prepared that there is good competition for

, and that sometimes all phone companies make mistakes. and sometimes they all excel - the s700 is remarkable, but the z600 wasnt as special, the e700 is a much better phone.
if you havent used a phone, then dont comment on it.
and in the words of the oracle:
"make up your own god damned mind..."
