Is nice thought to think something is going on but I think at the end of the day it was just a very well planned and executed act of terrorism or, if you look at it from another angle, an act against western oppression.
Remember, one countries terrorist is another freedom fighter. Important to remember that, the US always saw the IRA as freedom fighters and look at what they did to the UK and our soldiers.

I wish you would look at this report conducted by a member of a CONSPIRACY site (generally populated by people who believe sonspiracies).
There are numerous photos of 757 debris. There is also a simulation developed by physisists (spelling) showing HOW a plane can dissapear in a building.
Come back after reading this and tell me a missile hit the Pentagon.

there are some photos that you can say are at the sene but some could be taken some where other place like the Rims. can you prove that they were taken at the sene and any one got video evidence im pretty sure that there should be lots of video evidence.... please can n e 1 show me these
and how come the fire didn't last very long , i mean these fires are ment to be hotter then 800C

Good one - but I think I'd go for the latter explanation!

Isn't the whole point that we will never know - and none of us here have the necessary scientific qualifications to do anything more than speculate. You can point to this website and that website till the cows come home, but none of it is irrefutable evidence, especially not in an age when technology makes it possible to show people anything you want them to see. Of course this argument also applies to the evidence we have been shown by the US government. Healthy debate is great and "conspiracy theories" are fine - just accept that they are nothing more than that, and for God's sake, don't try and promote your version of the conspiracy as the absolute truth.
It's more than a bit out of order to accuse the US government of (or imply that they are responsible for) conspiring to murder several thousand of their own citizens to get their hands on some oil, unless you have some very very safe cast-iron evidence that this is true.
From all that I have seen and heard, nobody hear does, though if there is anyone reading this that actually stood next to the Pentagon and saw with their own eyes either a plane or a missile fly into the building, please do correct me. But isn't your argument just that the opposing theory (that promoted by the US) doesn't have solid enoughb evidence for your liking - quite a convenient cop-out!
Otherwise, I guess you have to take the words of those that do know (the best evidence I have seen was a program on UK TV, with eye-witnesses who said
they saw an American Airlines plane - they didn't look like undercover Federal agents to me but I guess Mlotsofnumbers would like me to prove that they weren't).
Put bluntly, counter-theories are generally promoted by sympathisers of the real terrorists, whose cause it suits to demonise America, and try to prove that they did it to themselves and that, actually, Bin Laden was lying when he went on TV and admitted responsibility (after all, who knows whether that video was faked too!)
If you hate Bush that much, there's plenty to go after him with - ask Michael Moore - without touching 9/11. He is possibly the least intelligent man ever to run a country (never mind the most powerful country in the world) and has consequently made any number of very public mistakes. But I personally view this conspiracy-theory as an attempt to take advantage of the way he is perceived globally to manipulate it to anti-US ends. If you stop and think about it, how many of you Bush-haters really believe Dubya has the brains to do what you've accused him of and get away with it?!

1) Even if the conspiracy theory was correct, why would the US fire a missile at the Pentagon? No disrepect to people that died in that strike, but it was the WTC attacks that stuck in people's minds. If the Pentagon hadn't been attacked it wouldn't have affected the eventual response. Why would the goverment take the risk?
2) If it was a missile that hit the pentagon, how many people would have been involved in the cover up? You will also have to include all of the people on the plane, air traffic control, airport workers, pentagon staff, etc....
3) Do you think all those people would keep their mouth shut?
4) If the US had staged this "for oil", then why did they immediately launch an invasion of a country with virtually no natural resources (Afghanistan)? Surely they would have laid a more compelling trail to Saddam or House of Saud? Afghanistan is nothing but a money pit for the US, they aren't making anything out of it.
5) If the US has such awesome powers to create this conspiracy, why didn't they plant WMD in Iraq? This would be have increased somewhat their international credibility, rather than being shown to be incompetent. I think this is the real conspiracy - US Intelligence incompetence, 9/11 or WMD it doesn't matter. Do you really think they could have organised this conspiracy?
As has been said already, you can't change beliefs, but I will choose to believe the more straight forward explanation. If someone provides compelling evidence pointing the other way I will happily change my views.
