Looks fab, but one USB, fixed battery and the price are off putting.

stupid twats! I love apple but they really are retarded sometimes.
Why the hell do they put in a non user replaceable battery? using some kind of mechanism like the mbp, doesn't take up much space!!!
also the usb thing is stupid, why recess it? SO you can only plug in the next gen of apple usb sockets n pen drives!!!
arh really annoys me when a company destroys such a good product, saying that if I needed a tiny notebook id probably buy one considering the competitive specs and price. The battery doesn't bother me as much as the general consumer as I would be confident enough about swapping around such a part.

ok apple have now officially pissed me off again
apple us price for the air - $1800 basic spec
apple uk price - £1200
exchange currencies and theres a £285 difference of $560
how the hell can they justify this? seriously what the f**k apple! Your going to loose me as a dedicated fan unless you sort out your shocking international price differnces!

Oh, bugger! What I've feared just happened... Falling in love with the Air! I just can't stop watching the ad! Don't know how they've calculated the UK price thought. So, it seems like I will get one...

Feck that!
You'd be better off with a MacBook Pro!
It's slim enough! And think of what's missing from the air! Basic shite like changing yer own battery!

Good god how thin is that macbook air! The no optical drive is rather rubbish but wow!
Luke i agree the price differences are really starting to annoy me now, although i can see myself getting a macbook air in July in NYC will be alot cheaper across the pond so to speak.

Having second thoughts now... Mono speakers??? What? Also, I'm not sure about this new magsafe. Look like "uncomfortable" if you like your machine on your lap. Don't like the new keyboard layout. By the time I've managed to learn the MacBook's I have to learn a new one. It seems like there is nothing is user upgradeable. I mean, I can't be sure, I don't want 4gig memory in the future and a larger capacity hard drive. OK, maybe the HDD is not that important, since I've decided to get this Time Capsule thingy. There is one more thing. Will this thing be powerfull enough to play 1080p HD videos?

the macbook air is perfect for me. Something nice, slim, fast enough and great for a traveler like me.

I think I use a cd/dvd in my mac only a few times a year, seems like a good idea removing it.
Interesting to see apple support blue ray, im quite glad they did that.
I think the air is really designed for someone such as myself, and amnesia as we are always on the go and just want something light and fast. I would get one if I didnt have a mbp which is pretty much good enough for me
